Bon Jovi and Alice Cooper have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2011. For Alice, all I can say "IT IS ABOUT TIME" Man oh man. Now, get Kiss, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Rush and Black Sabbath in there ( not to mention Ted Nugent) and we can talk. Goodness. I am not the biggest Bon Jovi fan here ( I do know some folks on this board are...LOL), but I respect what they have done. They brought metal to the masses and for that ( from a Megadeth fan...me) , we do thank you.
On Tuesday, September 28, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced an eclectic list of 15 nominees for the 2011 induction. Potential Hall of Famers include the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Bon Jovi, Tom Waits, and Neil Diamond.
Also joining the list are disco singer Donna Summer, heavy metal's Alice Cooper, soul performer Joe Tex, folk legends Donovan and Laura Nyro, New Orleans musician Dr. John, and rockers J. Geils Band, among others. This year's nominations are the first for New Jersey's Bon Jovi, Diamond, Donovan, and Dr. John.
