Just heard this on the TV. It's ridiculous that government can now tell us what we can & cannot eat.

I thought it was the toys in the Happy Meals do not meet nutritional guidelines that are now prohibited? Either way still dumb.

I think they mean Either you reward kids with a toy for eating healthy, or you get no toy. That or they want Mc.Craplds to stop bribing kids with stuff to eat their tortured, unhealthy meat.

Yep, time for government to tell YOU what you can and can't put in your body, whats next? Banning four loko? Oh wait they're doing that!

What a joke, government needs to focus on real issues and stop telling me what to eat and drink.

Fact is most people are clueless on nutrition..abosolutely clueless. We are so far away from healthy eating..even the "healthy" foods do not support 3 meals a day unless you take a bite and throw the rest away..Everyone thoguht changing to non-transfat oil would be great..yeah whatever it's a microscopic slice of what the real food issues are in this country. You have heard how fat Americans are..well just go outside the country and it's so obvious Americans are wayyyy fatter than most. At the pace the fast food enviroment and our clueless obsession with food is going..something real needs to be done imo.

Well, to be fair, its not like the San Francisco City Council has massive legislation they have to deal with.

This is old news. In fact Mayor Gavin Newsome vetoed the legislation.

You’re quite right. It was strikingly apparent when I first visited the US around 1980. I just couldn’t believe how huge some of the people I was seeing were. That’s thirty years ago and I understand things have got even worse. I had read some time ago that it’s more than food that’s the culprit though. I think the book Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You to Know About mentions fluoridation of water as a major contributor to the problem. If that’s true, it would be hard to lose weight no matter how well one eats.

WOW! That's the first time I heard of that. They've been putting fluoride in the water since at least the 1970's to help stop cavities. HMMM...

I love the conspiracies.

There are two simple variables: calories in and calories out.

Calories In > Calories Out, you gain weight

Calories In = Calories Out, you maintain weight

Calories In < Calories Out, you lose weight

Everything else is just an excuse.
