Last week 4 babies died in the daycare fire run by Jessica Tata. Now, she has fled to Nigeria.

She also has a history of setting fires at her high school.

I've been reading about this and it just sickens me. She went to the store and left those babies ALONE. Those poor poor defenseless babies  Then she can't face up to what she did and flees to Nigeria. I hope she gets what is coming to her plus more. :grrr:

It is a horribly tragic situation to say the least. I felt sorry for her originally because I don't think and still don't think she had any criminal intent in mind. However she made an unforgivable stupid mistake that cost the lives of 4 defenseless babies and now has fled so she doesn't have to face charges. No longer do I have an iota of sympathy for her. Hopefully they can find her and extradite her so she can face the 10 charges filed against her. It also appears that some of the rest of the family may have been fleeing tonight, but that hasn't been confirmed. They may have been moving to another place so the media doesn't know where they are.

I don't know David, about not having criminal intent. I've been reading khou.com and back in 2002 she was accused of starting 2 fires in the girls bathrooms at Katy Taylor High School. She was expelled from there. What was so important at Target that she leaves a pot of oil on the lit stove and left all those babies unattended. To me this woman is certifiably psycho. Her family isn't helping either. Packing to go on vacation? Yeah right. I want to know who took ms. tata to the dallas airport and who paid for her ticket. They should arrest that person/persons for aiding and abetting.

Of course another question I have is what is a 22 year old doing running a certified day care? I don't know any 22 year olds and never did know any 22 year olds that I would certify to run a day care. Obviously a 22 yr old is capable of taking care of a baby, but I have my doubts about one being able to run a safe day care center.

That is what I am wondering too. She also has a history of discipline problems and went to many schools.

Nine more charges made in tragedy

Her brother Ron setup an organization to raise funds for the victims. Sounds like a scam to me.

If that was my day care, first of all, I would not have gone to the store. Secondly, I would be a raving maniac if I had kids in my house that was currently on fire. She's just acting like a spectator. Her NEIGHBOR looked more upset than her. How awful!

That was the first thing that struck me when this first broke. Then all the sudden she is supposedly so freaked she has to be hospitalized. I don't think so!!! And then suddenly she is well enough to travel half way around the world. Nothing adds up here anymore except that I have totally changed my initial thoughts about her from what I said previously to I THINK SHE IS A CRIMINAL AND MUST ANSWER FOR THE MURDERS SHE COMMITTED.

She'll never be extradited, IMHO. Nigeria does not extradite its citizens.

Jessica Tata has turned herself in and is in Atlanta as of today. I have to wonder about why she surrendered.

And she is in the Harris County jail on $500,000 bond. I never thought I would see the day. Hopefully justice can now be served in this matter.

Ptarmigan, according to khou.com she didn't turn herself in, she was captured. I've read a couple of articles there and both said captured...so, i dunno! I'm just glad that nigeria let her go as a country doesn't have to let them bring her back here. I'm just glad that justice will finally be served.

Here's one of the articles from khou.com saying she was captured.

The information that she had turned herself in was fed to the media by her family. I trust nothing they say.

I don't believe she turned herself in. I think her family helped her escape.
