Facebook Feuds

Gawd they can be hilarious. I'm sitting back and watching one right now. There's a page, Busted! In Acadiana that is posting mugshots of locals. Our sheriff's dept. has a website that you can go to view all the mugshots but this one idiot decided to make a page about it. It wouldn't be so bad but if he doesn't like what someone says (and it is usually in defense of the mugshot) he calls them a turd and blocks/bans them.

Now i got into it with the page owner yesterday as he posted a picture of a local community leader who had NOT been arrested but wanted to make a derogatory comment about his appearance. I couldn't let that slide. We went round and round and he made snarky remarks about my age and then found out where i used to work (which kind of creeped me out). And the page owner hides behind a made up name so we don't know who he is. I won in the end as the community leaders picture was taken down. Good thing because i have screenshots of it and if he hadn't taken it down i would have gone to the community leader.

So anyway, todays feud has spilled over onto the KATC facebook page. Lordy, Lordy...

I have to say some of the stuff that happens on facebook is hilarious and some of it is very sad. What is scary about some of it is that these people are supposedly educated or at least you would think they would have to be to deal with technology.

with teenagers in the house I overhear lots. My wife has an account and I hear about it all the time.
Nope I have no desire to use facebook. I am not getting dragged into all the petty B.S. I do not want all these people as "friends" and then their friends and friends of friends getting in my face and in my life.

Facebook is for people who have nothing to say. to continuously say a lot of it.

I actually believe Facebook is a valuable tool, if used correctly. I, too, have witnessed some fights on the site, but I enjoy the benefits I receive from being able to check in on friends and family who aren't near me. I have found people I have not seen since high school and have found some great weather resources on there, too. It is all in how you choose to use it.

I'm over 14 years old, so I have no reason to go there.
