AVATARS-ALL PLEASE READ

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Thu Jun 23, 2016 8:34 am

We have had an incident with a members avatar that changed from what they had(possibly an outside the site avatar. which are allowed as long as they follow our rules) to an advertisement. the member did not do this nor did anyone on staff.
The take away here is to PLEASE CHECK YOUR AVATARS IF THEY ARE FROM AN OUTSIDE SOURCE to be sure something like this has not happened and does not happen. Our staff doesn't check everyone avatar. Thanks for helping us with this.

Can you report a post with the 4mb avatar so we can look?

Done, but I guess you found it at the same time since it's gone now. I've seen several others well over 1M, but I forget who has them now.

Was that reinstated? I'm seeing another post with one the same size, but I can't remember if it was the same person.

I didn't see or ask anyone to change anything. Not sure what you are seeing.

If the file size of an avatar is too big, use TinyPNG to reduce it before uploading. TinyPNG will maintain the quality (to the naked eye) while considerably reducing the file size.

Not at the moment, no. Should be fixed sometime next year, after the Atlantic hurricane season.
