S2K is actually slightly older than me.

I think of it as THE best!
I'm a member of other forums and decided to rank them against each other based on how much moderation on normal forums, it's reputation, and the moderation levels on the OT side. S2K is #1 by a huge margin, Wx Infinity (The sister forum in Texas) is #2, and round the top 3 is SouthernWx at 3rd.

Wow, I remember talking to chadtm in the chatroom near the time of launch. I remember the board in 2002 and I won't say anymore about that.. lol, lol and lol so I am quite thankful for storm2k. I don't always agree with all the rules as I am a rebel, but I'll admit that you offer something that I enjoy and can't stop taking part in these past couple decades. Hoping for many more decades for storm2k.

Re: Storm2K turns 20!
This forum has its origins from a group of posters (myself included) on the old tropical weather forum of the Palm Beach Post back as early as 1996 or '97. I might have some of the details wrong, but I believe that the forum domains were storm96.com and/or gopbi.com/storm96 (which changed to "storm9x.com" as the years progressed).
I think that forum fell out of favor as it became a haven for trolls and other mean-spirited ignoramuses around the time of Y2K. A group of folks from there started this fourm. I think there's only 2 original admins left here from that page. I didn't join Storm2K until a couple years later, but used to post there quite a bit. I even was a "special guest" on of their live chats that they used to host every so often.

Sounds right to me Tony. I even remember the first time you and I interacted and I believe it was before S2K. It was during Debbie and people were saying it wasn't going to be named and I disagreed and next thing I know you are telling me it will be named shortly.
And to say the least the rest is history.

Happy 20th Birthday Storm2k! I remember finding the old Palm Beach Forum back in Sept.1998 when Hurricane Georges was getting ready to hit Puerto Rico, Key West & then Gulf Port, Mississippi! I joined Storm2K on Thu Sep 04, 2003 12:23 pm & have been here ever since. It is the best place for anything pertaining to Tropical Information in the Atlantic & around the world!!

Now I'm kind of curious about what this place was like in 2002, and why there are hardly any threads from that year. I barely remember the beginning, and I think I must have followed a link to get here around the time it began. My mind draws a near blank.

In the early stages S2K was very much like a family since there were a lot fewer members and we weren't worldwide like we are now.
