As the California governor's race proves, celebrities who decide to enter the political arena are not that uncommon. The only unusual aspect of the growing trend is that they are all Republicans.
Now, it seems another star is set to enter the elephant party. "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer says he might also run for the US Senate. The 48-year-old Republican told Fox News that he wants to, "get to a place where I could do the most good for the greatest number of people." The extremely wealthy actor, who currently lives in California, added: "I haven't laid out any plans yet, but possibly senator."
One guy who better watch out if he does decide to run is "Bowling for Columbine" director Michael Moore. Although the war in Iraq has not turned out the way the Bush administration said it would, Grammer claims he refused to watch the Academy Awards because of the anti-war "crap" that celebrities like Moore had preached.
When asked if he heard Moore's anti-war acceptance speech and verbal attack on the Bush administration, Grammer said, "I didn't hear it because I didn't watch [the Academy Awards]. I wasn't interested. I knew that that kind of crap was going to be there and I thought, I am not interested."
