A restaurant in New York has changed their menus. They no longer offer FRENCH FRIES. They've changed it to FREEDOM FRIES.

This isn't a joke.

Don't know why they were called French fries in the first place...maybe someone can enlighten me. I think that is a cool gesture.

hahah...gosh...this is making patriotism more cliche than anything else. I'm sorry but its just pointless.

I'm sorry but this is way over the top. If my understanding is correct, French fries have nothing to do with France anyway!

Rediculous...

B/c doing this will not change anything that is going on. Do you really think the french will care if we call them french fries? We're the ones that started called them that in the first place. The french are not boycotting our products they just disagree with this one thing. IF you did not notice...france germany china and russia all disagree or have problems with this war. We are not dumb enough to start boycotting chinese products b/c we get most of our stuff from there. It just sounds like we have a double standard or that we are hypocrites. We can't start doing childish things like this or banning wines when people disagree with us...instead try and figure out why so many countries are not for this war. We can't always get what we want. In the long run this won't do much good. Its just about as useless as flying a flag. OF course everyone won't have an american flag but it doesn't mean they don't love america. If people really wanted to prove their patriotism they would actually go out and vote instead of perpetuating voter apathy.

It's just their way to disagree with how France is acting. This is America and it's poetic if you ask me

Hey, all I was saying is: freedom or french fries, send em over! The french don't have anything to do with the name, so it is kinda funny, but everyone has the right to express the way they are feeling, and if that is the way the restaurant owner wanted to do it, then more power to him!

The Brits call them "chips"...I'll stick to that one (along with some breaded fish fillets and a hefty dram or two of malt vinegar, washed down with a Guinness Stout!) .

I heard that on the radio today, I think it is to cute. It is their way of showing their disapproval for how France is treating us. I love "freedom fries".
Pass the ketchup please!

Get this...from FoxNews this morning, I heard that the French themselves eat the fries with...MAYO! ("Barf-Barf", and that ain't Annabelle talking! Besides, she be a ho'.)

They call a Quarter-Pounder "une Royale", since they use the metric system; no word on what they call a "Whopper", since there is nothing in the French experience to account for this term...

It may not change anything JQ but that is the restaurant's little way of saying "Up yours!" to the French even if it only makes them feel better. Of course french fries aren't really made by the French. I think it's cute.

Freedom fries actually sounds pretty cool.

"I'd like a Big Mac please."
"Would you like freedom fries with that?"
"You betcha! A whole army of them."

lol
