Kobe's Defense team drops a BOMB!!!

I just heard it on the TV, so I have no corrobarative evidence.

They claim that the plaintiff in this case had "more than Kobe's DNA in her pants"(that is a paraphrase of what I heard). They also say the plaintiffs attorneys know this and have ignored it. If this is the case, then I would think this throws a whole new light on the case. Again I have heard nothing but this, but it sounds like there could be more involved than previously thought. Maybe their question about the bruising wasn't so far off?? Who knows? However, I do stand by my earlier post concerning this, no matter what happens with this new info.

I heard it on the television also. The District Attorney didn't look too pleased. It gets more interesting everyday!

My goodness. That is one twisted case and just from looking at her, Kobe's defense attorney scares me. :o

I heard about this a couple of days ago -- that the defense attorney mentioned the plaintiff having with other sexual contacts prior to the contact with Bryant. It certainly gives reasonable doubt.

One fact about American justice in the 21st century....

If you accuse a famous celebrity of mistreating you sexually, and have any skeletons whatsoever in your closet...any embarrassing episode in your past...or any former lover or friend with a grudge -- be prepared to be totally humiliated, because soon everyone in America will know about it :( :o

You can certainly have sex with one person one day and get raped the next day by someone else, that's for sure!

There is absolutely no denying that!! That can happen even within hours of each other. The only doubt it casts is the question that has yet to be answered and the only one that really has to be answered-Was it consensual or not? Like I said in another post about this, if she once said no to him, then it is rape.

Maybe I'm reading the articles on FoxNews, MSNBC, and CNN wrong.

I think they are reporting that she went to the hospital on request of the prosecutor and brought the panties she was wearing the night of the alleged rape with her. But while there, they tested the pair she was wearing as well. THAT pair tested positive for semen and they found Caucasion hair on them as well. Well, heck, Kobe isn't white!

If that's the case, does this mean she had sex with someone AFTER the rape that supposedly left her with injuries? Or did she forget to do the laundry and have to wear soiled panties to her hospital test? (EWWWW!)

(I'm hoping I read and mis-interpreted the reports wrong!)

Geesh---way to much info for me!!! This very personal info needs to be kept in the court room--- imo!

But that's the point. It wasn't kept in the court room - the judge allowed this in an open court knowing what the defense was getting ready to drop.

Semen can live up to three days, which could explain the other "evidence" and that she could have had other contacts prior to her contact with Bryant.

The reason I said that it provides reasonable doubt is because it could give a defense attorney the case to argue that someone else could have caused the trauma to her body and thus someone else could have raped her. If someone goes into a room, picks up a gun, fires it at someone, and misses. Then someone else comes in later, picks up the same gun, fires, and fatally wounds the person, the fact that there are two sets of prints on the gun could offer reasonable doubt about who the killer was.

The case must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

I keep remembering that she has claimed to be raped twice in her 19 year life. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but.......My humble opinion is that she needs real help. Here comes the old fashioned me--whatever happened to being married before you have sex? I can't see having sex right after meeting someone, and I don't care how famous he is. Maybe, she is lacking self esteem. Who knows?

I agree 100% David.

This entire episode is a sad commentary, of course.

Sad because someone who may well have been raped is then scrutinezed right down to her underwear in front of the entire world. How she chooses to live her life, who with, and why, has become part of the equation. Agree or disagree, she is also on trial...the public's trial.

Out there somewhere tonight are real victims...more serious victims...who will not step forward for fear of the same kind of public review. What can be more demeaning than a discussion of your undergarments on CNN. Somewhere tonight a true victim is saying...no, I will not report this to anyone...and crying alone.

Sad too because money and fame seems to buy a louder voice. Sad because Kobe may very well be guilty...but not ever really feel the sting of his responsibility in all this. Even though he will always be something less than he was.

Justice will play out, I suppose.

But not for those who will not come forward in the future because of how this story is being told.

How very true Steve! I wish the media would think along these lines too.
