Former Gov. Preston Smith's Funeral Today

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Funeral services are scheduled today for a former Texas governor.
Preston Smith, 91, died Saturday of pneumonia.
The democrat was Texas' 40th governor, serving two terms from January 1969 to January 1973. Smith was defeated while seeking his third two-year term in 1972.
Besides his passion for education, Smith was known for always wearing polka dot neckties.
Smith will be buried in Lubbock.
