Your favorite Alfred Hitchcock Movie

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Tue Oct 28, 2003 12:17 pm

So, what is your favorite movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock?

My most favorites are "The Birds", and "Vertigo".

Hmmmm, that's like asking me to pick my favorite Amy Grant or Billy Joel song.

I suppose I'll say "Vertigo," "Psycho," and "Rear Window" in no particular order.

His best was probably "Psycho." But I preferred "The Nanny", for nail biting suspense. I think it's a Hitchcock movie.....I don't know for certain though. "The Birds" was one scary movie too!!!

THE BIRDS. I still hide behind the pillow watching that movie - even today.

Oops, the Nanny isn't a Hitchcock movie. But it sure should be - very suspensful! If you ever see it listed, watch it. Very old though, made in the 60s I think. Bette Davis played the evil Nanny.

Here's a link for Vertigo:

I have seen the Nanny and have always thought Bette Davis did a good job with her performance. Guess I haven't seen Vertigo, but plan to.

Thanks for the link Miss Mary.

If you haven't seen Vertigo, it's about an Ex-Detective who is afraid of heights.

Got to be "Notorious". Put Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in a Hitchcock film and you got perfection.

Dial M for Murder is no. 1 for me; Rear Window is good, too. A lesser known one that is a psychological thriller is Rope. It's a shame Hitchcock never got the Oscar!

I love the story behind "Rear Window." And it is such a great film for its time...but I must admit to being a "Birds" fan. The town of Bodega Bay will never ever be a good place to visit in my mind.

I dunno...I like "North by Northwest" better than most.

Where else does one get to see Cary Grant being buzzed by a Stearman cropduster in the middle of nowhere, or struggling for his life on George Washington's face at Mount Rushmore?

I've also seen "Psycho", that's also bloody scary. After the making of that film, the female actors never took a shower again.
