They have had a different announcer on the show for awhile now. Was he sick, or was this sudden. I was wondering if he had retired or what had happened to him.

Rod Roddy had breast and colon cancer... and yes someone was substituting for him while he was sick.

The show does so well, Bob Barker may retire from the show in the coming months, not because Rod Roddy passed away, but because he may just want to spend the rest of his life (mostly) retired. He has had some health issues as well.

Rod hasn't been on "The Price is Right" for several months.

It is time for him to retire. Lately he has been forgetting things on stage and not being too coherent. His age is definately showing. He gave us all a good run with TPIR. Sorry to hear about RR. He was a classic. Loved his outfits he wore on the show. Classic.

True.

Speaking of Randy West, he was also the announcer of the Pax TV Game Show "Supermarket Sweep" from time to time.

I watch "Supermarket Sweep" sometimes... interesting concept for a game show. :)
