Prayer needed again...

Just as Grandma Gee seems to be recovering, word comes from Florida that my oldest stepson, Tony, is in the hospital with a partially collapsed lund, and both lungs are blood-filled; the doctors say this is smoking-related.

He will be 28 in March, and has three children, all girls. Please, if you could take a minute or two...

Already taking a minute or two Bill......prayers needed all around for our extended Storm2K family. Pour it on everyone. Keep us updated Bill. And try to get convince him later to quit smoking. But first things first, get him thru this first. And maybe after this ordeal, he won't have to be convinced. He's so young to have something like this happen!

I am so sorry to hear about your stepson, Bill. My sister (she turned 32 in June) had a collapsed lung and never smoked a day in her life. She was horseback riding in Bermuda and we think that is what caused the problem. At that time [a couple years ago] she was a few pounds lighter than myself. She has since gained quite a few pounds; which is good... she wants to lose several pounds now.

As Mary said, hopefully he will seriously considers to quit smoking.

Tony's on full oxygen right now; they are trying to reinflate his lung, but, if this doesn't work, they will have to "go in".

He's at Wellington Memorial Hospital; maybe someone in FL can tell me where that is?

We all battle demons when it comes to our bodies...our humanity. So tragic that someone so young would find himself in this terrible condition.

Hopefully, God's hand will choose to find a way to heal and he will realize that you cannot cheat your health at any age.

Consider him covered in prayer from the desert....

Bill, I am not from that portion of Florida, but I just checked where Wellington Memorial Hospital is located. It is in the town of Wellington, just outside (a few miles southwest) of West Palm Beach.

Wellington is also approximately 35 miles southeast of Lake Okeechobee.

Thank you all! Debi is beside herself; she hates crises, and it falls to me to handle/assess/act on them.

T.J. (Tony) is particularly worrisome...he's spent a LONG time straightening out, just recently got off parole, and has been trying to make a life for himself and his kids (his wife..that's another story).

He completed big-rig driving school, got his DOT certification, and now this...coupled with Thelma's hospitalization, and having heard little from my sister in CA, it's been UGLY over the last few days around here.

I know, God never gives us more than we can handle (remember the frantic apartment search 8 weeks ago?), but...we could use a BREAK.

You're welcome, Bill. I am glad I can help in this little, enjoyable way. :)

Still hoping for the best.

Rest assured my dear friend, Tony will remain in our prayers and thoughts. Smoking is a funny thing, some people have smoked all their life and have no adverse side effects while others pay the ultimate price........makes me stop and think every time I *light up* now.
