I know this has already cycled through the boards once..but I was wondering what movies you guys have seen lately. I've been in the Movie watching mood lately so I'm interested to know your likes and dislikes. Okay..here's mine. I've just seen "Intolerable Cruelty" and I have to say, it was a load of t-r-r-ipe (as they say in North England) lol. My wife and I almost walked out on it. Saw "Mystic River" and although the story line was a little depressing, well very depressing, the acting was fantastic. School of Rock = Rocks! (lol) And.. oh what's the other one?!?!?! uhmmmm................. gone... Oh, butI want to see Kill Bill. hehe thanks guys.

Well, I have been poor and busy lately (go figure- lol) so I haven't seen a new movie since American Wedding, which I LOVED, but stupid humor is my thing!! I can't wait to see School of Rock though, that is next on my list!

I really wanted to see "Scary Movie 3".

Oh yeah!!! I forgot about that one! I want to see that too!

Its older, but me and the wife watched "Identity" the other night on Pay-Per-View and loved it.

"Intolerable Cruelty" looks to be about one step up from "Gigli." Unless you're a die-hard fan of any of the main cast, I don't see why anyone would want to see it.

I haven't been to a movie at the theater in forever. I'd like to see "Scary Movie 3" just because it's been a hard week at work and my mind needs something silly. I'm not a fan of Quentin Tarantino. Wait...that's an understatement. I can't stand QT. All his movies follow the same basic plotline -- not-so-good-guy good guys con the really-nasty-evil bad-guys, the bad guys go after the good guys, and then it all ends in a gunfight en masse. Somewhere in the middle, insert a couple of obligatory drug scenes, a dancing scene, and someone sustaining a graphic wound to part of their body, which the camera focuses squarely on. You see one QT movie, you've seen them all.

Just my opinion...but I don't really have room to talk...yet.

Just one warning about "Kill Bill." It's in two parts. You'll have to wait til next year (February, if I heard right) to see Part 2.

If any of you ever get the chance to see "Road to Perdition" with Tom Hanks it is a must see. It is a bit tedious, but still a great movie.

White Oleander gets a thumbs down from me. UGH!!

Ghost Ship is a good movie even though you know what will happen before it happens. Still scary all the same.

The last one I saw in the movies was American Wedding....I might add .....excellent! FYI...don't eat before watching the movie!

Oh yeah Identity is good! You know, I saw Scream for the first time the other night!! What is the deal with the second one?!?!? Talk about replica?! It was so stupid! The first one was good though.

Aaaah Linda, "Road to Perdition" is a very good movie, although you might want to put something lighthearted on afterwards, but, a very good movie, Modern Day Godfather with a Dick Tracy twist! lol

That movie "Intolerable Cruelty", well, I wanted to be scared out of my witts and see "Texas Chainsaw Masacre" but........my wife won that fight! She then said afterwards "maybe we should've seen TCM" oh geez!!! LOL!!!

I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre last week. Go if you like horror! Matchstick Men with Nicholas Cage was good. Mystic River was amazing. Tim Robbins deserves an oscar; he broke my heart. Sean Penn was great, as usual, too. You don't need to see it if you are feeling down, tho. Intense!!!! I didn't bother with that tripe with Zeta Jones. She's not much of an actress, imho. I've been watching my collection of Halloween movies lately--always fun.
Oh, yes, we enjoyed Runaway Jury, too. Open Range with Robert Duval was good, too. He is so neat....

Halloween movies as in THE Halloween movies? Michael Myers, though not scary, is my fave out of the three baddies -- Myers, Freddy, and Jason. Still searching for the ultimate scary movie (I talked about that in a post earlier this month). But I just LOVE the music in Halloween.

How many remakes are there now of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Does the story have a different plot this time? I do not get why ya need to see remake after remake.

My parents went to see Runaway Jury last week and my Mom said it was excellent!! "A Must See" she said.

Yes, Galveston, THE real thing, Michael Meyers. I have all of the movies except 3. That one didn't have MM in it. He is my very favorite although Jason spooks me out because he walks so fast chasing the victims. Freddy is ludicrous and not scary at all--but fun.
Linda, I never saw any of the other Texas Chainsaw movies. This was my first one. I would like to see the original now.
Runaway Jury is so good. You should go. I don't care for John Grisham as a writer, but his books translate well into movies most of the time. To add to the fun of the Jury, our son looks like John Cusak. (only better looking, says his mom. ) lol on me

I have seen the first two sunnyday. The original is a classic and the second one was good too. If you go to the video store, rent them both.

John Cusak?!! He was a hottie in the 80's. I also love anything Gene Hackman is cast in. My fav with him was the Poseidon Adventure!!. I plan to go and see Runaway Jury.

Tobe Hooper's TCM was the best. You should really see the original. There was one just a few years ago with Renee Zellwegger and Matthew McConaughey but I wasn't impressed. I don't know why anyone felt the need to do ANOTHER remake so soon. Or why they had to do a remake at all.

By the way, don't let anyone kid you into thinking it's a real story. It's based on a real guy (Ed Gein, and there's even a movie about him called "Ed Gein"). He only actually killed two people. He was a necrophiliac and I'll leave it at that because I don't want to gross anyone out. He was also the inspiration for Norman Bates (momma's boy, dressed in women's clothes) in "Psycho" and the killer in "Silence of the Lambs" (dressed in clothes made from skin). I think there was a third one, but it's not coming to mind right now. But as for the whole story being true, it isn't. There never was a massacre by chainsaw in Texas. A few cults, some disturbed wives and moms, a billionaire who dressed like a mute woman, and some jagoffs who tied a man to the back of their truck maybe...but nothing weird like a chainsaw massacre.

The Shining!!!! Oh yes!!! That is one cool movie!! Remember the scene with the boy on his bike riding down the hall, seeing the two girls!!!! I'll never forget how they use that scene on Twister, right before the F4 comes barreling through the drive-In movie!! That was cool! Anyway, The Shining, with the "As good as it get's" guy..can't remember anything today, well, he is brilliant!

Friday the 13th - remember the music?? ooh ooh ooh ooh ahh ahh ahh ahh.. girl running through the woods?!?! lol Sorry, on a roll today! All good movies this time of year!!

His name was Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" he is a great actor to me as well. There was a remake of that one too but I liked the original better.

I used to believe it was a true story Shawn.

The music in Friday the 13th was something else. And Halloween too. And let's not forget the music in JAWS!!! I loved all of them.

Jack Nicholson!! Thankyou Linda... Oh man, you're picking out all my favoutites. "Jaws" is my favourite movie. Best line ever " We're gonna need a bigger boat"!
