LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC is developing a drama based on a controversial new English book about three teenage boys muddling through their first sexual experiences.

The network has ordered a script for "Doing It," a coming-of-age saga based on a book published in May by children's author Melvin Burgess. His depiction of the teens' crude banter immediately whipped up outrage in some quarters.

The TV project is being executive produced by Stu Bloomberg, a former president of entertainment at ABC, and Francie Calfo. Jeff Judah and Gabe Sachs ("Freaks and Geeks") will write the script.

Burgess' other books include the novelization of "Billy Elliot," the 2000 film starring Jamie Bell (news) as a fledgling ballet dancer, "Junk" and "Lady: My Life as a B**ch."

HEY....I agree Bill, they can have Bill Clinton on there playing HIS sax and have Monica as the Flute....UH, I mean Violin player "LOL!"

IMO, sounds a bit too risque to be on ABC!! I have watched things with similar storylines, and they can be very funny, we all go through those stages at some point, but I don't believe it belongs on the set where any child can see!
