DENVER -- Astronomers say the sun is regrouping for another round of solar explosions, which can disrupt airline communications and electrical power. The new sun storms could target Earth around Thanksgiving -- the nation's busiest travel holiday.
In recent weeks, sunspot activity has flung huge clouds of charged particles at least 11 times. But only the storm on Oct. 28 had much impact on Earth. It caused a blackout in Sweden, damaged satellites and upset airline radio communications.
NASA scientists say the past few weeks have been one of the most dramatic periods ever observed on the sun. They say the solar storms they've seen are as rare as a blizzard in July -- in California.

The solar flares should not be nearly as intense as the Geomagnetic storms that were produced a few weeks ago, particularly by Sunspot 486 when it released the X28 flare just as it was going out of view ... Such solar storms are very rare and probably won't be anything near as speculator as the event we just witnessed. Fortunately, there was only one major CME that was directly hurled at Earth, and very fortunate that 486 didn't unleash the X28 blast towards Earth ...

During the past flares I haven't seen the effects from it in the communications by sattellites only what happened in Sweden .If anyone knows what negative effect the past flares in the last 2 weeks occured apart from the Sweden area you can post them or it was media hype?
