How many here have received their flu shots for the year?? I was *suppose* to but never got around to doing so, I think it's too late now

I should've I guess. Heard on the news yesterday morning that this season, so far, has been one the WORST and it's JUST now getting started.

ME!
Speaking of...hundreds of students were suspended because they didn't get their shots or didn't turn in their confirmation paper. I lost count after 100 suspended students were announced.

Neither have I, and the thought of the needle poking into me is about enough to make me sick!! I would try the other option if it weren't so darn expensive!! I usually only end up with colds though, haven't had the flu for quite some time!

I got mine Oct. 24. I've been faithfully taking one each year, ever since I had a severe case of the flu in 1993/94. It lasted 3 straight weeks, fever for 8 days. Coughing, chills, aches like you wouldn't believe. I went to my doc twice, initially and then when it wouldn't go away. He said it was too late to get a flu shot, this was in January by then. He also said to get one the next fall and never, ever skip a year. I also came very close to it going into pneumonia and being put in the hospital. I was one of a handful of his patients he was checking on and watching carefully. And all I could do was take meds for the fever and aches, cough syrup to sleep at night and ride it out. And my girls were only 2 and 5 then, it was not a fun 3 weeks let me tell you all! So if you're on the fence about it - should I get one/should I skip - my advice is to get one! And I've never had it again, so bad. One winter my girls and husband swapped the flu around, and I was their caregiver, but did I get it? Nope! This was a few years later and I was thanking my lucky stars and my doctor for great advice.

I got mine in early Oct. I was sick with flu symptoms for a few days because I was run down when I took it, and my body was trying to fight off the virus. I always take it, though.

Miss Mary - I got my flu shot on October 24 also.
This is my 3rd year in a row of getting one, and I have not been terribly sick during any of the past 2 winters.

Flu shots are recommended for pregnent women, as long as you are not in the last month. Check with your doctor.
I was going to get my shot but ended up getting the flu before they were even offered. I had it pretty mild compared to hubby and son.
Snowman, you might be able still get a shot. Meijer is giving theirs this weekend. Call around and good luck.

I got my flu shot when I went to see my endocrinologist on Oct 14. The flu shot didn't keep me from getting sick with a bad cold though over the next few eeks while working on Halloween costumes for daughter and grandson.

Took mine last Wednesday, Nov. 12. My poe pays for it...they figure it's cheaper to vaccinate everyone than them get sick.

I haven't either Dennis. I'm hoping that what I had in September - "the crud" as someone so affectionately put it in another post will prevent me from getting it again. That was awful!!!

I don't usually get too sick and don't have any need to get a flu shot; I really wouldn't want to.
I am very rarely around a group of people, so that helps. When I was in school I would get occassion colds, that last a number of days, but never got too bad.
My father (being a heart patient) got his on Friday, November 7th, as my parent's doctor [mine too, as of Monday, October 20th] got some more of the vaccine in.

Our company gives them to us every year, but since I work in the field, sometimes they forget to call me.. thanks for the reminder. I'll have to call and find out what day the shots are scheduled.
Just called and I missed out. Crap!!
