same sex marriage passed in Mass...what's next?

Just curious about where the line will be drawn. THis is not an attack against homosexuals, but a question as to what doors are being opened that have always been shut. This decision did not begin and end in Massachusetts IMO. It started with the Sodomy case a few months back when the Courts ruled that whatever homosexuals wanted to do under there own roof was ok. The door is now opening to its fullest extent, and it won't be long before Billy Bob petitions the Court to marry his most beloved sheep. I know...an absurd thought, but is it really considering the direction our Courts are heading?

Eh, it's not a big deal. A handful of couples sued so they could get marriage licenses. They didn't win. They still don't get marriage licenses.

Same sex marriage wasn't "passed" actually. All it was was a ruling that said a ban on same sex marriage was unconstitutional. It still doesn't establish all marriage rights for gays. No license, so no marriage...yet.

Me? I don't care for a JOP marriage. Until I can wed in a church (and not in some "gay-friendly" cult), it's not a marriage to me. And it probably won't happen in my lifetime.

As for how far will this go, there's no telling, J. If it goes to a national level and is addressed by presidential candidates, I won't vote on that issue. Give me a candidate with plan for the economy and the war on terrorism. Preferably one who is anti-abortion.

Boston -- the same place where they just consecrated a gay bishop. What else would you expect? A tea party?

Billy Bob can't marry his sheep because the sheep can't wear a wedding band. Nor can they sign marriage papers, wills, insurance, and whatnot.

"But the issue may find a hostile audience in the Massachusetts Legislature, which has been considering a constitutional amendment that would legally define a marriage as a union between one man and one woman. The state's powerful Speaker of the House, Tom Finneran of Boston, has endorsed this proposal."

So, if you're invited to one...don't go. And if you're proposed to, just say no!

Why insulting? they aren't doing anything to you!!

No offense here, because we all do have our own opinion of same sex marriages...BUT, who are any of us to say that same sex marriages shouldn't be allowed? I could care less...it's not me living that sort of life...so WHY should I care? Infact, why should anyone care? If you don't like it...don't look at it! plain and simple! This would be like being told I couldn't marry my husband because he was born and raised in a different country than me. If you love someone...regardless of their gender, race, or whatever it might be...you SHOULD be able to commit to them in any way you want.

But then again...that's just MY thoughts and opinions!

I'll defend the sanctity of marriage til I die. Unfortunately, I'll probably die before I have a sanctified marriage. My death will make some of you happy. Should I be allowed to have a funeral in a church? Or will the next step be the Funeral Defense Kit?

Sadly, the majority of gays who are fighting for marriage aren't even Christian. They're Jewish. So the Christians are battling the Jewish to keep them from getting married. That ought to make Osama and Saddam happy.

The kit comes with "personalized" letters for Bush, Congressmen, and Senators? Just how personalized is it when someone else needs to write it for you?

Hmmm, that's very interesting Shawn. Where did you find that out?

I don't understand how people say that gays are promiscuous and sleep around etc, but when they want to settle down and get married people won't let them do that either. It doesn't affect my life in any way so i really don't mind if they can get married.

Sorry, Lyle. I couldn't find it now if I tried. I read it a few years ago in an Advocate magazine article about monogamy and gays. It kinda irked me because it said gay Christians weren't being as vocal as they should be. But then again, people who want to preach that God hates other people wouldn't be willing to listen to those people who have a strong faith in a God that supposedly hates them.

A person either believe the Bible in its entirety or not at all. It is the inspired word of God, and if you believe that, it's all true.

Whatever goes on behind someone's closed doors is their own business. I do not support gay marriage, but I won't be out there protesting against it either. Whatever happens, happens.

it won't be long before Billy Bob petitions the Court to marry his most beloved sheep.

LMAO! J you are too funny!

A roomful of people can claim to believe the Bible as the truth. However, they'll still argue "an eye for an eye" vs. "thou shalt not murder (kill). They'll disagree about baptism -- do you get sprinkled or do you get dunked; is baptism at birth valid? They'll debate about when the rapture will happen -- pre-tribulation or post-tribulation or during. They'll argue about how to be saved -- must you speak in tongues or do other gifts count? And on and on.
