The chatter has increased for a US mainland attack

I just saw Tom Brokow reporting that chatter between the terrorists has increased and the experts in terrorism say that that indicates an attack by Al-Qaeda may be in the works. Also he said that nuclear facilities may be targets by cargo airplanes. Also bio and chemical attacks can happen. But homeland security has not raised the threat level to high because that would cost many $$$$ for many cities.
That in summary is what I heard and saw this evening on NBC and sounds like we will have to watch in comming days as Ramadan ends as Beer has said in other threads.

I have been keeping an eye on the stock market. Right before Sept. 11th there was alot of selling going on then we were attacked. I have not noticed anything peculiar right now.

The few days before Thanksgiving are generally an up-market. The trends are a lot more important that the day to day numbers.

This is like the information Beer has been pasing along to us.
What totally throws me is that they don't want to increase the threat level to high because of the costs to the cities???? Why even bother having the terror alert system to begin with? :-? Everything costs money! Perhaps the federal government had better start making sure that the cities have the funds available.

Steph what they said about the cost of raising the threat level to high is that the small cities will have to have more money to pay more security officers in those cities as well to have a security plan that also costs money and that is why the homeland security team has to study all the angles to raise or not the threat level. This year alone it has been raised 3 times to high or orange and then go back to elevated or yellow.Steph that was what mr Brokow said about the cities and the cost of rising the threat level.

Folks,
This is typical terrorist nonsense. This is Thanksgiving weekend coming up.
They KNOW this. The busiest Holiday travel time...Typical Al Q mindset. To
freak ppl out...emotional terrorism. It can affect air travel as well as the economy...the targets of Al Q rational.Plus Bush is going to London soon...the hotbed of Al Q/Radical Islam.
This is being handled well by our Gov IMO...no need to react adversly...this is what the enemies' intent is afterall.
Relax and enjoy the Holidays.

I predict a series of attacks at the shopping malls when consumers go crazy trying to grab the last of the discounted specials as they fly off the shelves. And the alert status at FSU will go to red when the Gators get ready to drive the Seminoles underground on Saturday!
But as for al Qaeda, pffffffffft. They want turkey...they can cook their own. They're not ruining the holiday for me.

"AMEN!" I've been saying this ALL along.....this kind of *garbage* is exactly what they WANT, this "IS" a form of terrorism, THREATS...they know how nervous we are, well, SOME of us anyways. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are planning something BUT....as I've posted before, why on earth would they publicize the act, the time?? Yes.....we need to stay alert, stand our *watch* but let's LIVE life, we could be snatched up at ANYTIME.....the next time you drive to the grocery store, you could be broadsided and God forbid!! You could choke on a turkey bone this Thanksgiving, get food poisioning.....ALL a possibility but yet....do we worry about that?? With that said......."HAPPY THANKSGIVING ONE AND ALL!"

Cycloneye... yes and this article also mentions the increased risk the U.S. seems to be under.. Also in Newsweek magazine. it mentions the Homeland Security and the F.B.I. had called the police chiefs and mayors of New York, Washington and Los Angles and asked them to go to a higher state of alert.
