Why is everyone playing games w/us? We are beginning to look like arses.
In a serious blow to U.S. plans for a possible war with Iraq, Turkey’s parliament speaker nullified the legisature’s vote Saturday to allow deployment of 62,000 U.S. combat troops to open a northern front against Iraq.

Geez. I guess we should have planned things out instead of being all gung ho and not thinking things thru. This isn't the same thing as the war on terror. We obviously had full support with that one. Now it looks like we're all bark and no bite. But who knows things will end up working out anyways.
No more turkeys for thanksgiving now...only freedom birds

bush waited too long. the longer people have to think about war, the less they want to do it. similar to the 1930's.

But i think waiting too long is a better mistake then doing things without thinking them thru. Look how many are opposed to this war. We coulda definitly started a world war!!!!

We waited in WW I until the Germans sank the Lusitania; again, we waited in WW II until the Japanese took out our Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.
We have already seen the resolve in the WTC and Pentagon attacks, and the various bombings worldwide since then.
WAIT? "He who is ignorant of history is doomed to repeat it"....no, not THIS time.

I'm sorry but there was no way Iraq was ever gonna attack us first. Its all in our hands. We will start the war and we will end it.

Iraq would just help the same terrorist groups that did attack us on September 11th. That is a much more likely scenario than North Korea launching nukes against the West Coast of the US.

WWI and WWII weren't even our wars to begin with. should we have started those too??
Yes, there is resolve with the WTC and Pentagon attacks by al-Qaeda. We also had two Americans that took part in bombing the federal building in Oklahoma City. There are all kinds of nut cases out there. Are we going to them all out? How's about Hamas? Hizballah? IRA???
I think that we started the Vietnam War to prevent communism from spreading. I think we lost that battle.
With WW1

We did not start the Vietnam War. The French did just for the record.

Yes, we went into to help the French with South Vietnam. The war we all pretty much refer to as the "Vietnam War" is the part where we went in to help the French and prevent the spread of Communism. The friction actually started back I think in the 1950's with France.

Well that's not quite right either. The Imperialist French were defeated but signed a peace accord in 1954. Those peace accords created a divided Vietnam with open elections to be held in 1956.
A good overview of the history of the conflict can be found at:
