STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Court TV) — Penn State receiver Maurice Humphrey will face a preliminary hearing on Dec. 3 on charges related to a weekend fight at an on-campus apartment complex.
Humphrey, a redshirt freshman, was arrested early Sunday outside the Nittany Apartments after an assault was reported to campus police. According to police, Humphrey entered the apartment and beat a man and his former girlfriend sleeping there. Humphrey broke the man's jaw.
Humphrey, who lives in the apartment complex, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief, police said. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
A university spokesman said a decision on Humphrey's future with the team has not yet been made.
Humphrey started the season as a cornerback but emerged as one of Penn State's best receivers with 410 yards on 30 catches with one touchdown.
