Bombs explode at Phillipines airport leaving many dead

#1 Postby cycloneye » Tue Mar 04, 2003 8:08 am

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/asiapcf/s ... index.html

4 americans are among the victims of this terrorist attack at the terminal in the airport 980kts south of Manila. The number of victims will rise from 19 as more than 100 were injured and many are in critical shape.

This shows that the terrorists groups are in many countries and these times after 9/11 anywhere in the world this like this will happen.

But I hope that the responsibles of this coward act are caught.

I think I am going to give up watching the news from now on. I think I shall lead the life of a hermit from now on!

is dead and several Americans injured. The attack took place in Davao on the island of Mindanao which is where most Filipino Muslims (Moros) live. The separtist group the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has not claimed repsonsibility and in fact has denounced the attack. No word yet from the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) or Abu Sayaaf-the later group being the one with ties to Al Qaida and which just this past week admitted to receiving financial aid from sources in Iraq. For the record, the Moros have been fighting against central authority in the Philippines for an independent homeland since the Spanish arrived in the 16th Century. They fought a 22 year guerrilla war against the US in the late 19th/early 20th Century during which our troops committed some serious atrocities.
