Excerpts from a Howard Dean fundraiser

Let me give you a few highlights of what happened at this
fundraiser. He was silent while the comics that he had
invited to speak:

* Referred to President Bush as "this piece of living,
breathing s---" and Janeane Garofalo attacked the Medicare
prescription-drug bill that Bush had just signed as the "you
can go f--- yourself, Grandma" bill.

* Used the N-word for blacks in a "joke" that was about how
it's supposedly fine for a pro-Dean comic to use racial
slurs as long as the aim is to call Republicans racist.

* Compared the President's National Security Advisor to
Michael Jackson (who's facing child-sex-abuse charges) and
said: "Frankly, I'm far more frightened of Condoleezza
Rice." The only thing the Bush national security adviser has
in common with Jackson is that she's black. And
another Dean comic used a "Yes Massa" accent in reference
to Rice.

*Called Dick Cheney's wife Lynne "Lon Chaney" -
the old movie star who often played ghouls in horror films.
And Cheney's daughter Mary, who is gay, was described as "a
big lezzie."

*Joked about how it's unusual to see an Asian baby with
Asian parents because so many Asian babies are adopted by
whites.

And all the while, Howard Dean sat listening and did
nothing. By the way, this is the same man who criticized
Trent Lott for his remarks about Strom Thurmond's run
for President.

This man thinks he should be the nominee of one of our
two major political parties. He wants to be the President
of the United States. And he doesn't even have the
conviction to put a stop to racism, sexism and vulgarity
at his own fundraiser.

Howard Dean owes President Bush and the American people an apology.
If he doesn't have the courage to stand up to his own party
at his own fundraiser, then he certainly doesn't have the
courage to be President.

Dean needs to know that racism isn't OK, even if you're a Democrat.

So please join me and demand that Dean either apologize
for what happened, or drop out of the race for President.

The Senator that was bashed was Senator Trent Lott, the comments he made were about Senator Strom Thurmond. Just for clarification...

Give him credit for adjusting with the times. In his Dixiecrat days, the only thing he knew was segregation. When the time came, he like the former KKK leader the renown Sen. Byrd changed their thinking. Democrats and Republicans a like fought tooth and nail against change. Those that change stayed, those that didn't are gone.

The great media lie is that Conservatives are racist and Democrats are not. It was the Dems who fought tooth and nail against desegregation legislation in the 60s. The south was predominately Democrat before and just after the Civil War. Check out the link for more:

He was 20 something when this happened....it was almost 23 years later when he was running as a Segregationist. Back in that time...good ole Southern boys were probably quite used to having sex with the help. Those were the times they grew up in...they might not have been right, but that was then...this is now.

I think what you are implying is that he is, or was a hypocrite because he had sex with the very race he wanted to segregate from. Fair enough....but sex is one thing....the theory of segregation he once supported, is another. Having lived in the South now for 6 years, I can tell you that this desire to segregate still runs deep in many Southerners. Thurmond had a change of heart along the way, and his record speaks for itself, ranging from hiring black staffers, enrollling his daughter in an integrated public school, and support for black federal judgeships.

I think Strom Thurmond was nothing more than a product of his environment, and his culture. The South is changing....but verrrrrryyyyyyy slowly. Strom was actually ahead of the game.

It is very apparent to me that I REALLY NEED TO stop posting especially on political topics such as this. The majority on the board are opposed to the views that I support which is fine and dandy, but there's also no respect given either. The name calling, i.e. "communist", etc. will not change and I've taken care (to the best of my knowledge) not to do so. My blood pressure doesn't need it and I'm not one for banging my head up against a brick wall. So continue with the liberal, communist, Clinton, etc. bashings and have a great time.

Sheesh...don't take it personal, but if you are going to post, you might have a few facts to back it up instead of pulling it out of the air. I freely admitted above that both parties are guilty but it is the Conservative who gets burned at the stake if he says something remotely not politically correct. Rev Jesse talks about hymies and he is okay but Lott pays a compliment to an aging Senator and he gets fried. Think about it honestly. Give me one liberal who has been destroyed over comments he/she made? Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas gets dragged through the mud for allege sexual comments to a former assistant and our Pres Clinton admits he was boppin an intern and NOW (National Organization of Woman) says its okay. Am I wrong?

NOW is nowhere to be found when its a Democrat on the hot seat, but there motives are very transparent. They support abortion at anytime for any reason, and we all know which party favors the slaughter of the innocent unborn.

What it says to me is that Howard Dean has no viable claim to Presidential aspirations, if he doesn't respond.

As to liberals, the vast majority are NOT Communists, but there is a core group whose agenda is decidedly Marxist...and it is that core that is paying for, and driving the DMC to the left at this time.

They couldn't get what they wanted in the 60's...now, they think they have a chance at the "prize".

People change. His daughter has nothing but good things to say about Thurmond. She said last night that her Dad had no hatred in his heart for African Americans. In those days, he was doing what everyone else was doing. When times changed so did he Steph. Nobody is perfect!!

You say he should not drop out of the race because of the racist comments?!! But yet, in a prior thread you mentioned Trent Lott being a racist? A bit double standard if ya ask me. And YES SIR, Dean should be raked across the coals for allowing this to happen.

There is a Governor (can't remember which state) who WAS a card carrying member of the KKK and makes racist comments all the time, but he being a demo he can say what he wants!! Why is he still Governor? If someone can remember who he is please enlighten me.

ummm lindaloo.. A comedian said them at a fundraiser.If Dean had said those comments that would be another matter. :) . Still it wasn't the brightest move by Dean to allow that at his fundraiser.. I wouldn't worry though.. The Bush administration is licking their chops at the thought of Dean being the Dem nominee:):):):)

Did I state anywhere that he should drop out? I only responded to Steph's comment about Strom Thurmonds colorful past and how hypocritical the record of both parties are handled by the left leaning media. Funny how one makes personal comments about someone and then turns and yells foul at someone when they make a statement that person considers personal.

If I must be honest, I love Howard Dean. He is very entertaining to the point he is dangerous. He personifies the anger of the far left-wing and as long as he continues on his path, he will splinter the Democrat Party so bad that Bush will have an easy reelection.

Oh...and I am one that calls it the Clinton News Network or Communist News Network. Why? Because the liberal thought process is very close to true Socialism or as I call, Communism Lite. They champion unionize labor, reassignment of wealth, and enviromental Utopia, all centerpieces of true Marxist Socialism. I've also seen post about radical right-wingers and when I see it I try to respond intelligently.

Tell you what....think about it and tell me why liberals are not for a reduced calorie Pro-Communist Country. One caveat, I am not suggesting that liberals are Stalin wanna-bees. I am refering to Marxist preached Socialist ideas. I welcome Steph's and any other comments and I will respond if I do not agree. Nothing personal.

I agree about Dean.. with him as the dem nominee Bush will have a easy re-election.No offense taken about the commie comments but the line sure gets blurred by calling them reduced calorie and communist lite.. lol... being close and being true socialist are different birds.. :):)
