FORT WORTH, Texas - Jurors acquitted a 21-year-old Fort Worth man Friday, agreeing that he acted in self-defense when he fatally shot one man and wounded another almost two years ago outside a Sandy Lane convenience store.
Clarence E. Wilson, who has been in custody since his arrest Jan. 5, 2002, was to walk out of jail a free man as soon as the paperwork was processed.
"He goes home today, finally," said defense attorney Bill Ray, who defended Wilson with Lateph Adeniji. "He was very, very relieved. He maintained his innocence all along. His family is elated, as you can imagine."
