I wonder if we are getting on their nerves yet.

DUBAI (Reuters) - A London-based Arab magazine said on Friday that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has vowed to launch a "back-breaking attack" on the United States by February, confirming an earlier message by the militant network.

The weekly al-Majalla said it received an e-mail from Abu Mohammed al-Ablaj, a little known al Qaeda member, saying bin Laden would release a video tape in which he affirms his group's determination to fight the United States.

"A messenger of bin Laden informed him (Ablaj) that the al Qaeda leader will appear on a televised tape after the execution of an operation which bin Laden described as back-breaking and which would change the order of things," al-Majalla said in a report in its latest edition, a copy of which was sent to Reuters.

"They (Americans) should prepare...their coffins, hospitals and graves. The coming days will be full of surprises and great events which will make them a historic example," the magazine quoted Ablaj as saying.

The report came after U.S. officials ordered their color-coded alert system raised to orange, the second highest level, citing possible year-end attacks.

Air France canceled Christmas flights to Los Angeles on Wednesday after U.S. officials relayed information that extremist groups were planning "near-term simultaneous attacks that would rival September 11."

Al Qaeda is believed responsible for the September 11, 2001 attacks on U.S. cities.

In the e-mail, which could not be immediately authenticated, Ablaj echoed his previous statement carried by al-Majalla in November saying the attack would take place before a Muslim feast which is celebrated on the last days of January or the first days of February.

The e-mail did not say what type of weapons would be used in the attack which Ablaj hinted would involve a series of strikes on the United States and other countries, the magazine reported.

I hope we can stop them. I'm not as faithful in our government as I should be lol..

For us here in the states.. It's not IF we will be attacked again.. but WHEN. This entire country in my opinion is a sitting duck.

We have 1000's of targets that Al Qaeda could go after. If Osama is going to indeed execute this.. it could get very scary around here..

Finally, some positive talk! :D :D :D

Al Qaida knows that we are on gaurd, so it would be pretty foolish (oh, wait, they are fools   ) for them to try something.

I am viligant but think the only "terror" that these b@s+@rds have and will continue to place on us is fear, and only that!

You saw what happened CHristmas Eve--suspecious flights were cancelled, and the case of the woman running through security at La Guardia (or was it Newark?), led to a complete evacuation of the terminal.

I believe that the goverment has things covered! :D

Sitting ducks are generally unaware what is going on around them and have no defense in place. We on the other hand do know what is going on and do have defense mechanisms in place. I do not believe that we are "sitting ducks" Far from it in fact.

Well, I don't know blizz, I *kinda* have to agree with Joe! The reason, the Az, Calif, Texas borders are no where NEAR secure enough. I received an email from a friend in Southern Az, near the border, it AIN'T good down yonder!

I stand corrected. I always fail to remember the border situations. You are correct, it isn't good on the borders at all. I only live a few hours from the Canadian border and that scares me when I think about it. Maybe that's why I don't think too much about it...lol
