Most memorable New Year's Eve

Back in the late 70's, a group of 4 couples braved a threatening snowstorm to go to a big party in Rockford, Illinois, at their main venue for bigtime events (where the Rolling Stones played once!).
Anyway, we danced, ate, probably drank a little (maybe too much), and brought in the new year on the dance floor. We kept hearing rumors of snow outside, but didn't go check it out.
Lo and behold, at about 1 am it was time to leave. We had 8" or more of snow and it was blinding. We fought our way back to town (about 18 miles) and were pushing cars out of the roadway in our sport coats and shiny shoes. It was about a 2 hour trip home. I ended up leaving our car in the street because the driveway said NO WAY!
We laughed a lot, and still do, about that night.
A great memory maker...
Have any memorable New Year's Eves of your own?

Mine is when we all went down to Bourbon Street in New Orleans and could not find a parking space. We just kept riding around and around. Before we knew it we heard loud booms and tugboat horns. We missed the bash because we were stuck in the car looking for a parking place.

Well, I am a youngin, I've yet to make an "adult" memory of New Years....but my memorable one as of yet would have been coming into 1992.....the first time my brother and I actually stayed awake for the party!

Course by 12:30? Out like a light!

New Years Eve 1977, 17 years old, wet behind the ears, stationed in Adak, Alaska, no telephones, no tv and a 5.3 quake rocked the barracks at 2350 that night. And OHHHH the copious quanities of Jack Daniels comsumed that fateful night, let's put it this way, I "STILL" get sick to my stomach just SMELLING or even THINKING about Gentleman Jack!
