LONDON (Reuters) - British Airways Plc, Europe's biggest airline, canceled its London-Washington afternoon service Friday, the second consecutive day the flight has been suspended for security risks.
"It has been canceled, that was based on advice from the UK government for a security reason," a BA spokeswoman told Reuters.

The airline canceled the scheduled service between London and Washington Thursday following government advice, a day after the same flight, BA 223, was detained on the tarmac at Washington's Dulles International Airport for several hours.

I hate to sound funny but eventually they are going to have to get this plane off the ground.

For 1 reason or another.. People are going to DC. The government has to take it's chances and let these people go.

I am not saying I want to see an attack. Please don't take it that way. But.. They eventually have to get the plane off the ground.

Otherwise we are also letting Al Qaeda win.

Hmmm that flight 223 has been searched many times from new years eve.A big suspision something was going to happen with that 223 flight has the security people go after it.

I totaly dis agree.. The government dosent have to let this plane off the ground untill they feel 100% safe.. Obviously thery are getting some very good intellagence about this flight considering they have stoped it three days in a row... Keeping planes that are suspicious for some reason or another from entering our country is not letting Al Qaeda win.. Not even close

Surely they have a way to keep this quiet and nab the creeps. And they should up the security screening with the baggage. To keep announcing this, is to let them know not to show up.

Ok.. I can see why you guys are disagreeing with me I'm sorry if my opinion sounded a little wierd.

I really do think that eventually they are going to have to get the plane off the ground though. I do applaud these people for being smart enough to see the intelligence to keep it on the ground.

john... just some additional information... these people (or most of them) are being put on different flights that leave London for DC. There is obviously something about this SPECIFIC flight that is cause for concern.

Ok Garrett.. It makes a bit more sense now.. It's not like they're actually staying in London waiting to leave Ok

Yes that is what I was thinking when it hit me. I wonder if the flight number has a connection. I remebered the number 23 and the flight number is 223. Here is the end of that letter of demands from a week ago.

If we don't see some wise, clear, and fast actions soon we will go

Also...air flight is not guaranteed by the Constitution the US Governments primary role as said in the Constitution is to "provide for the common defense." It is too bad those people are being held up but the intel has to be good to do it.

The airline industry is getting hit hard because of this. More peple are going to be afraid to fly, which means more layoffs and higher fares. Even without a major attack, these mind games that the terrorists are playing with us are still damaging...
