Paroled ex-beauty queen is accused of theft again

FORT WORTH, Texas - She is a former Miss Texas contestant. The ex-wife of a law enforcement officer. A former paralegal for a local probate attorney.
Julie Sue Steen, 34, is also an ex-con -- a convicted thief who, prosecutors contend, failed to learn her lesson in prison.
Less than two years after Steen was paroled from prison, where she served 15 months of a 10-year sentence for theft and money laundering, she found herself back behind bars last month.
The mother of two, who is divorced from a law enforcement agent, was arrested Dec. 20, one day after a Tarrant County grand jury indicted her on a theft charge.
