Breaking local story of national interest:
All 3 local TV channels are breaking this story - Delta Flight #43 from Paris to CVG (Greater Cincinnati Airport located in Northern KY) is being escorted in by fighter jets. We are being told there are 14 people aboard that officials want to talk to. Unofficial reports say there may be a possible terrorist aboard. Flight is due in after 3 p.m. EST. CVG is preparing for the plane to arrive.
I'll keep checking for local news websites for links.
Here's one....

Edit - Original reports said it was an Air France flight. Now they're saying Delta.

Flight path will take it over Western suburbs of Cincinnati, specifically Delhi Township before it reaches the Ohio River and then travels south to the airport into Kentucky.
This flight will be directed to Delta's old hub at CVG, not to the main Delta terminal.
Flight due in less than 5 minutes, it's now 2:40 p.m., EST.

CNN just reported that a woman was taken off of the flight in Paris, and the US wasn't notified till the plane was in flight. She was supposedly trying to conceal some "wires" under her coat.
Anyway...this is what they are reporting.
quick edit...suspicion that there may be an accomplice onboard of this woman they had removed.

j - that is what local news is telling us too. All passengers are to be re-screened when it lands. We're also hearing this is NOT terrorist related. But it's a big deal here in Cincinnati.

Local newscasters are wondering why this flight was allowed to travel this far. If it was indeed terrorist related, it would have been forced to land as soon it crossed into the US. I would not want to be a passenger on this flight though.

Well, j it seems as if officials were just being overly cautious. In light of what happened with 9/11 I'm glad they take things this seriously now.

At this new era after 9/11 every precaution has to be taken even if it turns out that nothing will happen because you never know when the bad acts will come.

I'm sure it is a big deal for you in Cinnicinati!

I'm with you Miss Mary, better safe than sorry!

Probably just as well that you were watching them. FoxNews.com
had a "Breaking News" headline up that I saw after Mary first posted the news. But it was just the headline without details. I kept clicking through the other major sites (MSNBC, Yahoo, and CNN). Nothing. Then FoxNews dropped their headline. CNN added one later and edited it over the past several minutes to reflect the new details.
