I know it sounds stupid, but I am curious how well members' NOAA Weather Radios respond to Tone-ALert tests and actual bulletins.

The Radio Shack older one I have was great. It would go off for the test everytime on time. The SAME worked great too. I need to get a new one that I can plug in.

My old one worked great. Wanted to upgrade to SAME, but here in Buffalo, I never hear that one go off. In the Albany area, I had no problem. Which makes me wonder if it isn't the individual NWS Offices that have their own protocol about how to send out the advisories.

No problems here, it worked so well, it woke my mom up! Although at times, I would leave it on broadcast to hear the warnings.

My works well. I would say no problems at all, but we did have a problem with one of mine back a few weeks ago for the test.

Same here. The past couple of summers, my NWS office has been upgrading their software. I have narrowed it down to their problem not mind. Plus, the equipment I own is SAME. I looked in the specifications, and it actually says that FIPS code success rate (a good activation) is 90%.

There was a time where it would only go off for the WRT (Weekly REquired TEst) every other week.

Mine works fine. Just a small, simple handheld Radio Shack NOAA radio.
