LOL You dreamed about the alert system going to red. Maybe you should dream it will go down to blue or green lol

Well, let's just remember that it's still YELLOW, and we need to still be vigilant...

What caused them to lower the alert level?

Quite, frankly, I don't think it will go to BLue or Green for awhile. Things are still a little scary out there.

I believe all the chatter has decreased.

I just hope that it hasn't decreased so that we let our guard down and the
WHAM!!
That would be terrible

Horrific is the term I would use. The way those cowards operate it could be possible they have found another way to communicate.

Well, how can I put this...to let your guard down, even for a second, could mean disaster.

is this supposed to make us feel better . that it went down.
incidentally it has never been below yellow.

I don't think its made to make us feel better its to emphasis the threat has decreased slightly - as in the plane flights from Int'l destinations being cancelled over the holidays...
Never - Never let your guard down....

No way should we let our guard down because it went back down to yellow (that is still elevated), but the chatter decreased enough to lower it from high risk. They had enough credible, specific intel to raise it last month...thank God nothing happened!!

I'm surprised they lowered. Chatter in the last several weeks indicated that February 2nd is a big day in their "holy" calendar - it's the Festival of the Sacrifice. I would have thought they would wait until after that date before lowering the alert.

Psst...Kelly, ya mean Orange?
I don't think it's ever actually been red since they started using the system, has it? I mean, if it has been in place before 9/11, it would have certainly been red on 9/11. But I thought we've only been at orange and yellow.
Does the military still use "DefCon" like in the movie "War Games" or is it refered to as something else now?

I believe DefCon is still used, but mainly for Nuclear situations. At least I Know they used that term in 1990 still when I was discharged from the Army.

Agreed, but it is good to know it is at yellow instead of orange or red.

LOL! That must be how I learned. I ought to invest in a bigger box. I still can't figure out fuschia, thistle, cornflower, periwinkle, teal, and raw umber. Worse yet, I don't know the difference between salmon, coral, and peach or oatmeal, almond, and beige. :o
