I am. Making it a 4-day weekend - taking Friday off as a vacation day. I can't wait.

Is that by choice rainstorm?
Not me. I'll be catching up on things. I slow down when it gets this cold.

There are really people who don't have to work on MLK Day? And I thought it was just a crazy rumor.
But seriously - my company's paid holidays don't include MLK Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Columbus Day or Veteran's Day.

We get MLK off.
We also get paid holidays for Texas Independence Day (3/2), San Jacinto Day (4/21), and LBJ's B-day (8/27). I don't get off on those days, but get paid double for working them.

We have a choice between getting paid for MLK day or Presidents Day - only one of the two. Unfortunately, we have to work both days. We can either take the double time for the day or take another day off later in the day as a comp day. The only day of the year we are closed in Christmas Eve at 4pm through the 26th at 8am.

I have the day off, but only because that is how the schedule turned out...I work at WalMart, they barely recognize anything!

I only recognize Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas.
As to MLK day, there is no way that I will ever celebrate the day of someone who refused to support our troops while at war, as that traitor did

Yep, City of New Orleans employees of course, considering 75% of the employees are.. avid followers?
Not only do I get off, but even though at that time I'll have been an employee for one whole week, I get paid for it .. immediate holiday pay!
