I got a Booboo!

#1 Postby Amanzi » Wed Jan 14, 2004 2:43 pm

Well now.. I seem to have lost all my balance and grace just flew out the window... literally!!

I fell last night SOOOO hard  I only have 8 weeks untill my new baby arrives, so actually seeing my feet is a thing of the past. I had a plate of hot dinner in my hand, and I was walking fast to serve it, I did not see that the dishwasher door had fallen open (my kitchen tiles are white, as well as the dishwasher, so that didnt help the issue) anyway... I collided with the dishwasher door and got myself airborne and to avoid landing on my belly I turned onto my side and extended my arm, putting all my weight onto my shoulder. It was quite a sight.. especially the wonderful array of peas and carrots around my head.

Thank the Lord my baby is ok and is still doing the wiggle inside :) My arm on the otherhand is non functional. It seems I have torn my rotator cuff, it is rather painfull, and I have very limited motion (my husband has been trying to brush my hair, bless his soul, but I think I shall adopt the Bob Marley look for a few weeks)

Anyone else taken a flying leap lately :D

Nope Bill, unfortunately I dont have insurance and we will have to pay for the birth of our babe so we are really pinching the pennies at the moment. I did go and have the babies heart rate checked, but the would not look at my arm  I have a friend who is a RN so she checked it out for me.

Of course I will post Lots and Lots of pictures :D

Amanzi - oh my, you poor thing. Please take care of yourself and get better soon! Glad the baby is okay too. I fell down our stairs once with Nina, she was a baby then, about 8 months. I had sox on, no shoes and began the slip and fall thing. We bumped down about 5, I held her tight. We had a closed in landing, with 2 more steps but thankfully it was carpeted. We landed on the landing with a thud. I had my arms wrapped around her. She was fine. My ankle hurt but it wasn't too terribly swollen. I limped for a while if I remember correctly. What I do remember well is the look on her face - as if to say that was fun, let's do that again Mommy!!! It shook me up though. From then on while holding her I walked very carefully!

Goodness Bron!!! I'm so glad that it wasn't anything worse! Watch that arm though because you'll need it good and strong to carry your little bundle of joy!

Thank heavens it wasn't any worse than it was. And thank God the little one is still wiggling around! Sounds to me like you need EXTRA chocolate for a quick recovery. Preferably in the form of pudding that hubby has to spoon feed you!
