Super Bowls in Presidential election years

Hey, guys. There's some sort of tradition in presidential elections that if the AFC wins the super bowl, one party wins and if the NFC wins another does but I can't remember specifically.

So...does anyone know if the superbowl has accurately predicted presidential elections frequently? Or maybe it's just a old wives' tale. It might have been about the stock market too, I can't remember.

Please clear this up for me. lol. :D

well isaid it in the other thread, but kerry is from new england *patriots*, and edwards is from carolina *panthers*. carolina beat the cowboys in the playoffs? hmm interesting ;)

I always thought it was the Yale-Harvard game winner that was a pre-cursor to knowing the outcome of the election. If Yale won, a Republical would win. If Harvard, a Democrat.

This year, Yale beat Harvard 37-19.
