Chicago police say someone dumped three grenades, a grenade launcher and three boxes of ammunition in a trash bin outside a South Side elementary school.

The weapons were discovered Wednesday night in a receptacle outside the Vanderpoel Elementary School, 9510 South Prospect Ave., police spokesman Hector Alfaro said. Police said they detonated the grenades so they would not cause injuries.

Officers of the federal Drug Enforcement Agency discovered the weapons as they were examining the school property on an unrelated tip, a detective said.

Police now are looking for the person or persons who dumped the weapons, where the weapons came from and why they were abandoned.

Now the same thing in Houston too.

HOUSTON – A hotel worker made a bizarre discovery inside a northwest Houston hotel room Thursday afternoon.

Houston police officers told KHOU a cache of weapons and ammunition was found including two inactive hand grenades. It was found at the Intown Suites, Mills Road location in the 8700 block of FM 1960.

No arrests were made.

It’s unclear what the intentions were of those responsible.

Thursday evening, investigators were still at the scene collecting evidence and trying to track down the owner of the weapons and ammo.

Once, "happenstance"; twice, "coincidence". If there are any others of this type, it appears to me that Al Qaida HAS those "internal" cells I've been warning you all about. :grrr:

Tuesday's New Hampshire Primary... the coverage of the upcoming New Hampshire Primary (and the New Hampshire Democratic Debate) may the reasons why the press didn't have coverage of these two events.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't believe that is an excuse not to bring me this information. Hmmm...

I try to cover it because the mainstream doesn't pick up on stuff very quickly. They can't be bothered with by stuff with all the Democrat coverage. It could be just some Militia spring cleaning. I would like to know the make of the launchers at least.

following up on this-In today's Houston Chronicle-A local man was found dead in this room on Saturday. Officer's also recovered 3 handguns, a bulletproof vest, a mask, and several out of state liscence plates. Alfred Annunzzi, 60, was found dead in the room of apparent natural causes, but autopsy results are pending. Police are trying to determine the ownership and intended use of the weapons.

Ok so the last known person to rent the room where the weapons were found was a man who was found dead inside the room five days ago. No one who investigated the death and removal of the body noticed this stuff. I see that a machine gun was also found vbhoutex. I wonder if anything else is missing?

I agree, Garrett. Perhaps the Fox News Ticker had it. It had to of crossed the wires and those behind the scenes at the cable new channels had to see the stories.
