Thought this might be interesting. Have you ever heard a line or two from a song that just sticks with you? Maybe it’s the message, perhaps its just a catchy lyric, a twist on words. Whatever the reason, if you’ve got one..post it here. If you hear one, drop what your doing and post it up!

Please….one or two lines only! (please refrain from posting entire songs)

I’ll start it:

“It’s not having what you want. It’s wanting what you’ve got”.
Artist: Sheryl Crow
Song: Soak Up The Sun

The South vs the North :) I love Neil, but this is still one of the great lines in Southern Rock history.

"I hope Neil Young will remember. Southern man don't need him around anyhow".

ok...I have another one while you are thinking. This one is the classic feel good 70's song. A time when music was music.

"Your the cutest thing that I ever did see. I really love your peaches, want to shake your tree." :)

Steve Miller Band
The Joker

"I believe I'm past the age
Consciousness and righteous rage
I've found that just surviving
Is a noble fight
I once believed in causes too
Had my pointless point of view
But, life goes on no matter who
Is wrong or right..."

Angry Young Man -Billy Joel

If ever you've got rain (pain?) in your heart,
someone has hurt you, and torn you apart.
Am I unwise to open up your eyes, to love you.

Run to me whenever you're lonely. Run to me when you need a shoulder. Now and then, you need someone older, so darlin' you run to me.

Around my area, the Bee Gees was THE group back in the 70's. (Been a while since I heard this, so some words may not be right lol).

I love the Bee Gees - especially they're older music!

"It's only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart, away."

Will you still need me?
Will you still feed me?

"Well if you told me you were drowning,
I would not lend a hand."

Biily Joel - Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.
THIS was the 70's...if you got married in the 70's, you can relate to this:

They got an apartment with deep pile carpet
And a couple of paintings from Sears
A big waterbed that they bought with the bread
They had saved for a couple of years

* Remember their names? Brenda and Eddie!

"Beethoven, Bach, Mozart were not aiming for the bull's eye
With a masterpiece in mind, they did not know
They just wrote their heart's desires
Despite the critics and the liars"
~Kathleen Wilhoite "Symphony"

"And all I ever have to be is what You've made me
Any more or less would be a step out of Your plan"
~Amy Grant "All I Ever Have To Be"

"Shine
Make ´em wonder what you´ve got
Make ´em wish that they were not
on the outside looking bored"
~Newsboys "Shine"

"But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me"
~Garth Brooks "The Change"

And there is just NOT enough room to post every great snippet of Billy Joel's writings! :)

They were the "popular steadys and the King and Queen of the Prom.
Driving around with car top down and the radio on."
