Police have linked two more Ohio highway sniper shootings to the 21 previous ones that have taken a woman's life and terrorized a region around Columbus.

Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Martin on Monday told reporters the most recent pair of shootings, which happened Sunday, had been connected to the others, bringing the total number at the hands of the freeway sniper to 23.

But Martin said there doesn't seem to be a method to the madness in terms of the vehicles or victims the sniper has been targeting.

"We do not believe it's a pattern. We believe it's random," he said. "It's a target of opportunity."

Locally, officials are asking Cincinnati residents (since the last two shootings happened closer to Cincinnati) to be very alert while traveling on I 71. Take notice of overpasses. Look for anyone who might seem suspicious. Glance at mile markers, in case you see something suspicious, you can give them an accurate location where you saw it. Refrain from talking on cell phones, since that might distract you and it will also keep the phone free should you need to call 911 in a hurry.

Ironically, my niece, her mom and my daughter and I almost shopped at an outlet mall very near where these shootings occurred on Saturday. We all said we'd rather stay close to home, and not travel that far north. And we all thought it you'd be safe at these outlet stores, since primarily past Ohio shootings happened on I 270 (Columbus' circle freeway).

Hope they catch this creep. Witnesses got a good look at him last weekend, that's the most info authorities have had so far.

Here's a local article I found, in case anyone is interested:

Here's what I think - this guy has a job in the Columbus area, that's why he keeps hitting areas around Columbus. On a Saturday he ventured down I 71, near Jeffersonville (near the outlet mall I mentioned above). Cincinnatians worried then he was going to start shooting here. But it continues on up near Columbus. Each time more and more people spot him, since now of course everyone is watching overpasses and more aware of this sniper. I'm hoping someone knows this guy thru work or as a neighbor and starts putting this all together. But usually it's someone who everyone will describe later as a nice, normal guy. I wish they'd catch him too KOW! Scary.
