From one extreme to the next!

Yesterday, was BY FAR, one of the best days I've had in 2 years!

Most of y'all know the story about the my relationship with my father, for the past 2 years, 2 months, we have not spoken a single WORD even though he lives less than 4 miles away. It's LONG story as to why this happened but to make it short, it's because of my child molesting step brother, he put Michelle and I in a position to were we had NO CHOICE other than to turn him over the Pinetop Lakeside Police Dept for not registering as a sex offender......as you can only imagine, the words that were exchanged that day when my father found out.

WELL.....I was sitting here at the desk paying bills, running invoices etc, ya know, business stuff, when the phone rang, I looked at the caller ID, it came up with my fathers phone number, I thought "Oh chit......somethings happened to him!" His health too, is failing rather quick. SO....I picked up the phone, with a hesitation in my voice and to my wonder, it was HIM!!! He said it was time that the hatchet was buried and to bring the family back together! Needless to say, I was speechless.......in the 45 minutes we talked, I was on a rollercoaster of emotions, felt everything from anger to complete, total JOY beyond comprehension!

So.....as one era nears an end, Michelles mother, another one begins with my father! Let me tell ya folks.....I've been SO dam stressed over the past 2 years that you cannot even begin to imagine, I'm a family man and to have a part of my family missing, especially the man I worshiped, was literally KILLING ME from the inside. I "KNOW, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that God did this!" I totally turned it over to Him finally, totally, completely last month and told God that it was in His hands and whatever His will was, so be it!

Thanks for listening, I just HAD to share this!

Dennis, man I am very happy to hear about him stepping up to contact you and to bury the hatchet ... losing my father 2 weeks ago was the hardest thing that I've ever been through in my life and it still hurts (and I know that it will for some time ...) ...

My father and I were very close, but I still have those regrets about not being even closer especially towards the end ... and even though that there really wasn't much that I could have done differently, it still haunts me at times ... I am very fortunate, though, to have had a father that was so close to me in my life, and I hope that in time, you and your father will become closer than ever before ...

Awww Dennis - that's wonderful news. Guess you just had to be patient huh? So happy for you all! BTW, you and Michelle did the right thing. But you know that, just giving you a pat on the back for it.

Thanks SF and once again, I'm so very sorry to hear about your father passing on. There's been so much going on in my life that I've been pretty much gone from the boards, I've been sneaking a peek every once in awhile to see what's going on, just haven't felt like posting.

My father and I use to have a *fairly close* relationship, not GREAT but non the less, not bad for a man who believes that a man should not show ANY emotions what so ever, guess it's just that generation....

I'm going over tomorrow and have a beer with the old fart  84 years old and the old feller STILL loves his beer!

In Gods time, not ours......
