Unfortunately, I do.
Also, why are there Mardi Gras parades going on so early? It isn't until Tuesday, February 24

We have parades here for two weeks before Mardi Gras Day!!! All weekend and every night up until Fat Tuesday!!! Mardi Gras is not just one day it's a "season."

Wouldn't ya know it. I check in on the parade and all I see are six, count-em, six police officers standing in the street on tax-payer dollars having a laugh or two.
I guess at Mardi Gras time they are entitled to a good time too.
Oh, the stories they must be telling!!!!!

Sure, by the sounds of the "title" isn't just a day, it's a season. It is more a social thing than anything else; which isn't my cup of tea.

Tom, it goes on for weeks before the official "Fat Tuesday" because all the "Krewes" each have their individual parades and festivities.
I had a blast yesterday afternoon and last night! Caught tons of beads, a mini-football (finally!), a frisbee, and a Mardi Gras cup and saw three pairs of "bead-catchers," if you know what I mean.

I found out that once you're standing near those who are showing, you get tons more beads because everyone starts throwing them that way and not everyone's throw is right on target.
