Howard Stern was taken off some Clear Channel stations due to vulgar, inappropriate racial remarks. It's about time!

Hmmm, I agree and disagree. Sometimes he's funny, sometimes he's over the line. I don't think we should run around banning everyone for every little thing that goes around, but at the same time, I think Clear Channel is reacting to the over abundance of smut and filth that is filling the media airwaves lately.

Clear Channel just lost several hundred thousand dollars in FCC fines over one of their DJ's, "Bubba The Love Sponge". They also fired him yesterday lol

Looks like Spring cleaning at Clear Channel lol

:D Yeah I noticed Bubba has been gone the last few days!! They've been playing music in the morning. I listen to Planet Radio 93.3 and Bubba used to be on in the morning.

I'm not surprised. I've listened to his show, and I couldn't take much of it. Not only is it over the line, it is just stupid. Ditto Jerry Springer. That show has not redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Best thing that could have happened. Howard Stern is pure "d" trash.

And your point is????
You would have to live on another planet not to know Howard Stern and his filthy demeanor. And, no I was not listening. Heard it thru the media.

Think about this. Would anyone know who He was if he worked at Walmart ? He found a way to piss people off and in doing so became famous and wealthy. I think he rode it out a lil too long. He should have gotten out years ago but needles to say almost eveyone knows who Howard Sterns is.

Very true Intimidator. I listened to Howard in college on my way to school every day, and some days I would laugh myself silly. This was back when he was only on 3 stations (NYC, PHL and DC). Eventually, I grew tired of his act but I don't begrudge anyone who wants to listen to him.

Hmmmm.....it's a simple fact of life..."people will DO what they can get away with".

From our country's top-most positions, we've looked the other way and accepted behavior that would embarass most of us. There are always some who are surprised that others actions/language/life-styles actually do bother some of us! This guy has pushed the limits far too much...........it is unfortunate that rude-crude behavior seems "the norm" to some of our population!.....p

I don't think he was ever on the air in KY. And if he was on in Houston, I never caught the show. Saw him a couple of times on E! and thought his humor was immature.

I watched him a few times when he had the Lesbians on doing all sorts of crazy things. (they were always beautiful, and my suspicious mind wondered if perhaps they weren't really gay).

Anyway...I can count on 2 hands the number of times I've listened to, or seen his TV show. It wasn't until I saw "Private Parts", that I realized just what this guy has managed to get away with over the years.

Unbelievable!

Well it's about time we cracked down on the humor broadcated over the air in this country. You know how it is with objectionable by community standards. That is specific enough to know what is ok to brodcast. I did enjoy Bubba's show but was not a fan of Stern. My radio has a button to change the channel and one to turn it off if needed. We need to let the market set the standard. Bubba's fine is for something from 3 years ago, so your local DJ may be next and not even know it.

LOL! Knowing Stern, they were probably stuff stars, so they wouldn't really qualify. Probably just acted out the part for scenes and stuff.

But don't think that just because they're beautiful, they're not. The ugly, manly obvious ones (who make me qualify as homophobic) are out there...and, duh, obvious. But there are some real headturners out there that would surprise you. Don't look at me. I'm neither. Just a duck in a bunny suit.

(And why the heck did you capitalize that word? Even I won't do that. )

Duck - totally off subject, but your avatar is quite moving. And sad. But important too. I don't even know how to display an avatar. LOL

And I knew as soon as I read j's post, yours would be next.

I've just always cringed at HS's show on TV and on air. Crude, nasty, the whole bit. He's always turned me off. Glad he got reprimanded like this.
