I have a silly question..

What were to happen if Edwards drops out {like he says he is going too} and Kerry somehow slips up like Dean did lol..

Would Edwards still win the nod if he somehow found a way to come back..? I know this is a silly question but I was thinking of it a few minutes ago lol

If Al Sharpton were to become president.. I'd probably kill myself..

No offense to blacks.. But he has good ideas, but would not make a good president

Edwards is still on the ballots that were printed in whatever primaries, so if Kerry slips up, he could still be elected.

So is Dean, on today's ballots; hence he won Vermont (as I mentioned above).

Nothing is final until the convention. It is possible for the delegates who are "committed" to a candidate to change their votes at the convention. Whatever rules there are that "bind" the delegates to a candidate can be circumvented if it is in the best interest of the party. If Kerry takes a dump they could come up with another candidate at the convention. I think the term is a "brokered convention." (Enter Hillary?)

I was going to make a joke about it being easy for democrats to circimvent rules at their convenience, but it would detract from my answer.

here is a question. what if bush/cheney wins, but before the electoral college can vote(remember, they dont vote till mid december), both bush and cheney die in a plane crash? how would the president be chosen then?

but i am referring to BEFORE the electoral college votes. remember, the popular vote means nothing. the electoral college votes determines the president. what if bush/cheney die before the electoral college votes?
