God speaking...

Many of you know that Brian and I have had the difficult, and emotional task of deciding whether or not to uproot our family, leave our home we love so much, our fine friends, and accept a job offer across the country in SoCal. We've been up and down, back and forth, and on our knees praying for God to show us the way, to do HIS will. Yesterday was crunch day, and Brian resigned from the company he has worked for for almost 11 years. After days of tears and confusion, we trusted this was the best move for Brian's career, and our family. This house was really the only thing holding me back, I could not see leaving our dream house, all the blood, sweat, tears and love we have invested in this house...We made the decision yesterday without any real blatant signs....God seldom talks to us how we expect him to, ya know?

Well, today, this was in my email box, from God's Daily Promises that I receive every day...
Friday, March 5
This week's promise:
God works through those who follow him
Following Christ means leaving everything behind and devoting ourselves to him.
"We've given up everything to follow you."
Matthew 19:27 NLT
Are you so attached to the things in your life that you are not willing to leave them behind in order to follow Jesus?
All scripture is from the New Living Translation (Tyndale House Publishers, 1996).
Is that Him speaking to us, or what? ..... He made us make the decision, and then He confirmed that we are making the right choice.
What are some ways Jesus has spoken to you, be it as blatant as this, or more subtley?

furluv - That is amazing!
I know that Jesus speaks to me in many ways. A few months ago, my wife and I were considering getting our mortgage refinanced - but wondering whether we should do it. Soon after we started thinking about it, a company that we have a loan through gave us a call. They offered us an interesting deal to do a mortgage refinance. After comtemplating it, I decided to call the company that we currently had our mortgage with - to see what they could offer us. Am I ever glad I did! Not only did we get a lower interest rate with our current mortgage company, we were able to get our house appraised at a higher value and get rid of our PMI. The savings each month is several hundred dollars. This allows us to more easily make ends meet and contribute more to our church - which is in the process of having a new building constructed and needs all the help it can get. So I do believe Jesus answered us through that phone call.

Absolutely John! Isn't He amazing?
I know PMI can be ridiculously high, (it feels like you're just throwing money to the wind) and what a blessing for you to be rid of it.

I'm sure that was His way of telling you.
One example I can give in my experience is when I tend to procrastinate of completing a task, making a phone call, etc. there tends to be a reason behind why I hold back. It shows up eventually and I feel it's because He's telling me that the issue will resolve itself.

I LOVE that sign Bill...
Here's another one from God today....Brian's present job informed him today that he needs to work his last two weeks here, instead of escorting him off property, which is usually the case when you resign in that kind of position. Had he not been made to stay this next two weeks, we were to have left to drive to CA today, 2 kids, and cat included...when Brian came home for lunch today, the radiator went kerplunk in our driveway...we drove it to the nearest auto mechanic place, (which was stupid...the stop engine, and engine is overheating lights came on), but we got it there to find that our radiator split and needs replacing...Thank God we were not en route to CA, on strange roads going through strange towns when this happened....this is another "thank you Lord for taking care of us" kinda moments!

I remember asking the vet how our dog Sasha would do with our move to Phoenix after spending 13 years of her life in Illinois with us. He told us that Sasha would be fine if we were fine. Her home and her heart was with us, and when she knew we were ok and happy and moving on with our lives, she would be too.
The transition from one place to another is full of emotion and excitement and sadness, too. But, a few weeks from now, as you settle in to a new place with new dreams, you will come to realize that a home is what your goal is...not just a new place.
A house surrounded by dreams and love and busy chatter about new things happening in your day is a healthy place. A place where you count on God to rest his hand on your shoulder after a busy day and where you can sit down and re-connect with Storm2k friends can soon become a home.
You will see God's presence in California through the sunsets you see, the ocean you hear, and things as simple as a good night's rest after a long journey.
He is smiling on you, you know.

Well, Azskyman, we're getting closer to that goal, aren't we?

Brian only has 1 week left at work here, and then we are on our way.
You know, I really just turned this whole move over to God, and He is seeing that everything is taken care of...we have received COUNTLESS blessings, since we decided to take this job, and I am feeling a peace about it all. It's just all falling into place.
The movers start packing up our house on Tuesday...so we'll be homeless for a few days here, I beleive, until we start the journey to CA. It's just all in His hands...
