Here is living proof that the education system failed some people..
Somebody just asked me how to spell Yahoo lol..
as in the website lol.. Y-a-h-o-o lol

I am often shocked by people who ask me how to spell simple words. My all-time favorite was when I was in 11th grade, and someone my age asked me how to spell "bend" (they were writing "Do Not Bend" on an envelope they were mailing).

As much as I hate to admit it, my spelling has gotten terrible. I used to be able to spell almost any word. In '88 I started working in 2nd grade. After 3 yrs of that, my spelling started to deteriorate. I'm not sure why. I suppose it was because I rarely wrote any words that weren't on 2nd grade level LOL. Now I have to have a dictionary close by or ask how to spell words. Maybe it's just old age???
