Lost my best buddy today

Haven't been around today, had to put my best huntin' buddy to sleep. Ossa, our oldest Lab, my best huntin' buddy in the world, was put to sleep at 0730 this morning. She had arthritis really bad, hip troubles....she woke us up this morning with labored breathing, panting...we knew what we had to do. Putting her down was the hardest thing I've had to do.....I've had to put one other dog to sleep, it didn't hurt as bad as this. Ossa was MY buddy, my huntin' pal, she was the BEST duck dog a man could ever own. Rest in peace my dear pup......you deserve it.

I'm am SO sorry to hear that, Dennis. I hurt for you. As a dog lover, I know that my Wizard is getting close to that, too, and I dread the day that I have to make that decision.

I am SO SORRY Dennis! I know how much you loved Ossa and the special bond that you had between you.

You just wish that you could make all of the hurt and pain go away - like tranferring it to you so they will feel better.

God Bless you, Ossa, Michele and your other furry friends! :(

So very sorry, Dennis. ((((HUG))))

When I lived in Ohio my Vizsla (Hungarian Pointer) named Captain became terminally ill back in the early 1980s and my Dad took him to the vet for the last time...Dad and I buried him in our back yard.

Dennis, your best friend isn't hurting now,
you know? Keep those good memories alive and
smile, every time you think of them!

Dennis please accept my condolences on the loss of your Ossa. Even though we didn't lose our dog Domino to death, we still lost her because we gave her away to keep peace in household, Domino did not like the grandson and bit him 3 different times. It really hurt when we took her to her new owners.
Just remember the good times you shared and she will be in your heart always.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called The Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to
someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There
are meadows and hills for all our special friends so
they can run and play together. There is plenty of
food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill or old are restored
to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are
made whole and strong again, just as we remember them
in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are happy
and content, except for one small thing; they each
miss someone very special to them who had to be left
behind. They all run and play together, but the day
comes when one suddenly stops and looks in the
distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body
quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her
faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special
friend finally meet, you cling to each other in joyous
reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands caress the beloved
head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of
your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent
from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together......

So sorry too to hear this Dennis. Ossa was one special dog it seems. You and I know you did the right thing, but it's so hard I'm sure. I dread that day with our Golden, named Hope. She's my buddy, my shadow all day long. Can't imagine life without her.

Thoughts and prayers going out to you and Michelle tonight.

Mary

Oh Dennis, so sorry to hear about Ossa! There's a special bond between people and their animals; it's always hard to say goodbye, but as mentioned she won't hurt anymore! Our black lab Goliath (he hasn't lived with us for a few years because he got too big for our little yard, lives at my grandma's) is nearing that point as well, that will be a very sad day. Take care this evening and remember we're all here thinking of you! :)

Sorry to hear about your friend Ossa, Dennis. Our pets are so darn loyal to us...through thick and thin, on good days and bad. They love us unconditionally.

So when we lose one, it is like losing a real friend. You can't replace that kind of relationship very easily.

Take care and give your other pups and extra hug today.
