Catch A Glimpse? Picture Posted!

Granddaughter Emma is heading to her first Chicago Cubs game this Saturday. Granny and Poppysky are taking her...as will be her mom, dad, uncle Jarrod, and a host of their friends from here in Phoenix.
The game is at 2:05 on Saturday central time...and is the first game broadcast on WGN this year. We have simple seats in the grass beyond the right or left field, wherever we can find a place to plant ourselves.
Have no real reason to believe we might catch the eye of a cameraman except that we've made a neat little sign saying "EMMA's 1st CUBS game" and she'll be wearing a PINK Cubs outfit. So, if you have nothing better to do during the hour from 2-3 central time, flip the channel to WGN and see if you can catch a glimpse of us! I doubt Emma will last more than 3 innings before deciding she could care less about the Cubs at her age, so she, and we, may bail out about that time.
What the heck, we'll at least get a neat picture or two of our own to share when we get back home.

Steve! You Cubby fans are hilarious! Brian just bought tickets lastnight to the May 11th Cubs/Dodgers game
for us to see in LA. It will be mine, Brett and Chloe's first game as well! We bought bleacher seats, he say's they are always fun.
I think Emma will get caught up in all the excitement and root on her Cubby team! How far is Ho Ho Kam from 8, we may be driving through AZ about that time next week.

Angel in the outfield...nice touch, David. She will be! I'll send a photo even if WGN doesn't give you a glimpse.
Furry...Ho Ho Kam is in the northern part of Mesa...I'd guess about 75 minutes from the turnoff on I-8. Last I heard, most Cubs spring training games are sold out...right down to blades of grass in the field!
If you end up needing to get rid of those tickets for the Dodgers/Cubs, I am 99% certain my boys would buy them off you and make the trip.
Looks like 82 and sunny at game time. Bummer for you folks still under the chill.

Thanks for that skyman....lol
I just got back from Florida, the Twins have their training camp there in Ft. Meyers, I drove by their stadium down there, and they were playing the Red Sox at the time. It was sold out, so I didn't get to go. But the kids wanted to get to the beach anyway. Had to come back here to the "chill"...lol

I guess I can root for the Cubbies just once...for Emma.
They're not playing my Astros anyway. hehe
I get WGN so if I'm home and can remember, I will definitely tune in. The cameras love signs and that's a good one so hopefully they'll get a shot of ya'll. Have fun at the game!!

The Red Sox play the Minnesota Twins the most during Spring Training.

Got up to a rainy morning here in Phoenix...but could see a break by gametime. Rains are welcome as always, but a nice couple hours at the ballpark would be welcome too! We shall see! T minus seven and counting!

Had a great time at the game. Emma lasted through a hot dog, a soda, a Sammy Sosa home run, and the 5th inning stretch, then we hit the road. Fun outing for ALL of us. PS, that's her uncle Jarrod on the right...one of the worlds BIGGEST Cubs fans.

Was it only a seven inning game? The Boston Red Sox Pre-Season games are always nine innings.

Was 9...they just take a few extra minutes in the 5th to clean up the infield.....

That's what I figured; but I thought of tuning in between 3:00 and 5:30 pm Eastern and didn't... when I put on WGN (cable channel 19 here) at quarter six Eastern, a sit-com was on.
A nine inning game is usually in a three hour slot, in this case 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm ET. It must of been one of those faster baseball games.
