New York City! Grown-up bumper cars

No offense, but Florida drivers are the worst red light offenders I have EVER seen :o Could be because I'm noty native to FL.

The northeast and New England's higher population makes driving more difficult, which in turn tends to cause the worse drivers.

Northeast/New England possibly? I had a priest nearly run me down while trying to cross an intersection with a Walk light, I was 8 months pregnant at the time, and he wanted to make a right on red. Here I was trying to walk as fast as I could but when I saw his collar, let's just say I walked a little slower and he got a very nasty glare from me. From then on I was leeary of New England drivers!!!

By far, Florida drivers - they are made of up of drivers from all over the country. Most of them are elderly and shouldn't have a license in the first place.

I have to also say our drivers are pretty bad..

they have a hard time handling the weather on a Sunny Day! AZ has placed three cities in the top five for fatalities caused by people running red lights or stop signs-where else can you see people making right turns from the LEFT TURN lane alá a Looney Toons cartoon (or vice versa) and I have video of someone who turned right of a highway bypass into the Left Turn lane of an intersecting road and drove 2 blocks down it before turning. Then add the snowbirds and the drivers from Mexico and you have an interesting mix (and very high Insurance).

I'm the only one who mentioned Texas, we had several speeders that rather tailgate my mom and other good drivers in town.

When I'm driving, the Northeast WILL be the worst driving area!

I have the same problem that Aslkahuna has ... WAY TOO MANY Red Light Runners, and people not being able to drive on a sunny day ... throw in rain, and it gets much worse ... and God forbid, should we have an icestorm/snowstorm ... then the FUN REALLY BEGINS in the Charleston, SC area ...

My experience is in the northeast, but there are sub areas. People in the country are decent. However New Jersey Drivers and Philadelphia drivers are very agressive. My wife and I were coming home today and someone zipped by and cut us off. She said "New Jersey" When we saw the plates, sure enough - New Jersey!

I have to agree about the Phoenix metro area... I also find the CA drivers are too agressive.

In general, drivers have become much more aggressive on the road - across the board! Well, maybe not in Florida.....LOL But about 10 or so years ago, as I'd take over driving on our family vacations, I began to notice this trend. If I even ventured out into the high speed, far left lane, I'd better do at least 15 miles over the speed limit or I'd have a car on my tail in a matter of seconds. Some drivers even flashed their brights. Since I had been a stay at home for some time then, I finally asked my husband if he noticed how aggressive drivers had become. He said - YES! But it began to happen gradually so he adjusted his driving habits accordingly. However, it was a real shock to me! I just tool around my township, and rarely need to get on the interstate. I know I'm really showing my age when I say this, but I was not taught to drive this way in 1971! We had to keep a proper car length and you never, ever tailed another car. Fast forward to 2004 and if a car doesn't tail me, that's rare. I'd say over 75% of drivers now tail you constantly, they talk on cell phones, straying over the middle line, and they ignore green lights, because once again they're yacking on the phone.

What's really sad is my newly licensed 16 year old daughter wishes she had learned to drive when I did! She hates, just hates how aggressive drivers are. I just sigh and tell her it won't change now. This is just the way it is, unfortunately. And she'd just better drive accordingly. She doesn't tail other cars though, whew, I'm so proud I taught her correctly on that one!

Mary, I've had people flash their brights at me, and I do not like it. I have seen numerous creative ways of showing the number 1 also, if you catch my drift. "Hey, buddy, I have the right of way, you have a big red sign that says STOP."

It is dangerous out there any more.

Tell your daughter to slow to well below the limit the next time someone gets to close. DOn't speed up until the person backs off.

The Boston Area is especially bad, hence, some of the highest insurance premiums in the nation. I have driven in various regions and they are the worst by far.

I tend to avoid conflict on the road. I ignore the idiots no matter what number they show me . If someone pulls out in front of me I just shake my head as I drive by. I have never had a ticket or an accident. *Knocks on wood* I respect other drivers and I also respect automobiles as Machines that can cause death and destruction if misused. That being said US19, our main thoroughfare, is very dangerous due to the design of the road and the lack of experience or deficiency of most of the drivers. I mean a lot of young drivers and a lot of elderly ones who shouldn't be driving. I always drive carefully but I am especially careful on US 19. There is a bumper sticker. "Pray for me I drive on US 19". If that tells you anything

Knock on wood, no one's ever flipped us off on the road, and if they did, we'd just ignore it...however, there have been ppl who flipped me the bird off the road if you get what I mean...

Johnathan! My father-in-law lives in Indian Rocks Beach. We've visited him many times. He would also mention to be very careful on US 19. First time I went on it, Jim was driving, I kept looking around wondering why all the concern. But then in time, I could see there was reason to worry or be more cautious. We used to visit friends who lived in Dunedin years ago. I wanted to follow the coast up, along Tarpon Springs, but Jim said no US 19 was faster. I believe you when you say you have cause for concern on that route!
