Something quite interesting happened to me earlier...

Earlier tonight something interesting, even good happened to me.
As you may know.. I go to my local Baptist Church. Well.. tonight's 6:30pm service was a choir preformance of a musical they did called "No More Walls"
Well.. They did a song called "Don't Look at Me".. It's a song that I believe dealt with perfection and how the only perfect 1 is God..
I can say this song moved me. It made me finally realize something.. It made me realize that I am not perfect and it made me realize that I can't be perfect.
I have lived life for so long thinking that I have to be perfect to make everybody happy. A lot of people have tried to tell me I can't be perfect and will never be perfect and that I don't have to be perfect.
Well.. it took the vocal cords of a teenager to tell me that I don't have to be. I was completely spiritually moved by the song.
I know this may not seem like a big deal lol.. But to me it was..
Thank you Ashley Wilder and thank you to my church for spiritually moving me and teaching me a lesson I think I needed

That is awesome John!!! And to come out and publicly admit something like that is even more awesome!! You obviously were moved and in a good way!!
GOD WORKS IN THE MOST MYSTERIOUS OF WAYS AND OFTEN IN WAYS WE WOULD NEVER IMAGINE.

Yes I was moved in a good way David..

and to think.. this girl who was singing the song is probably no more than 13-14 years old..
I feel pretty good today. Now if I can keep the idea in my head that moved me from the song I'll be OK..

Music has a way of speaking to a lot of people. I suspect this is the song that moved you so much, John...
DON'T LOOK AT ME....
Don't look at me if you're looking for perfection
Don't look at me I will only let you down
I'll do my best to point you in the right directon
But don't look at me
No, no, no
Don't look at me, look at Him
Sometimes I have a fear
That you will see a mirror
And get the thought that it's the main attraction
But all that you detect
Is just what I reflect
Of the object of my own affection
I'll lead you to the One I found
He'll give you everything you need
Don't look at me if you're looking for perfection
Don't look at me I will only let you down
I'll do my best to point you in the right direction
But dont' look at me
No, no, no
Dont' look at me, look at Him
It's understandable to want a hero
But people can't meet all your expectations
Still some can teach you things about the love He brings
Just know the source of life is in the Savior
I'll lead you to the One I found
He'll give you everything you need
Don't look at me if you're looking for perfection
Don't look at me I will only let you down
I'll do my best to point you in the right direction
But don't look at me
No,no, no
Don't look at me, look at Him
He's the One who lived a perfect life
He's the One who always gets it right
He's the One and only guiding light, Ohh, yeah
He is everthing you want to be
He's the answer to your every need
If you follow Him then you will se He's like no other
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh yeah
I'll do my best to point you in the right direction
But don't look at me
No, no, no
Don't look at me
Oh, dont look at me
I'll only let you down
I'll do my best to point you in the right direction
no no no no no oh oh look at Him
yeah, yeah

You know it's a darn shame when people feel compelled to share something like this and then say it's not a big deal. What does that say about our society? Karan, you're so right - John it is a big deal! Now drum it into your head and remind yourself of it often and you'll do us proud here at Storm2K!!!
Thanx for sharing that inspirational true story. Gave me goose bumps reading it.

Hi Mary.. no problem about sharing the inspirational story.. and I will tell myself I'm not perfect every day if I have too lol
It really did move me. I was just sitting there and during the song.. I like got fixated on the words and I will even admit I got a little teary eyed..
Most of my church doesn't know the song had an effect on me.. But I plan on telling a lot of people both tomorrow night and Wednesday and for the rest of the week.
If you're wondering.. I'll be at my church a lot this week helping out with the "Strength Team" crusade that starts on Wednesday. Tomorrow night I'm actually going out and passing out flyers around my community here..
