WISCONSIN POLICE: MAJOR CHANGE IN MISSING COED CASE; PRESS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR 11 A.M. EST

I thought I smelled a rat from the very beginning. Guess my intuition was right after all.

Hmmm... I wonder what is going on?

Oh, yeah...saw that on the Today Show today. They say they're even suspicious about her first "assault."

What did you smell Bonnie? Was she not abducted?

Could have been a "runaway" type of situation. Although she's too old to actually be a runaway, I gather that maybe she was "missing" but not abducted. As if maybe she simply didn't tell anyone where she was going or what she was doing.

So she was not found in a marshy area like first reported?

My assumption is she made up the story about being "assaulted" and planned this disappearance on her own. JMO---could be wrong about it all.

When I heard that she was attacked only weeks earlier I thought that it was rather odd too, but I felt sorry for her just the same. I think that you are probably on to something Bonnie!

People have been known to do some weird stuff in order to get attention and pity. Remember how Susan Smith first tried to accuse another person of carjacking her and taking her kids? Of course, that's an extreme example...I don't think the missing college student necessarily committed any crime that she's trying to cover up (except now for the possibility of filing a false report). How about the mom who claimed her child had cancer and actually shaved the child's hair and gave her drugs to make her appear ill? And what about the idiot chick who tried to claim she was a couple's missing daughter, even though she was too old to actually be the girl?

People just do weird stuff....

I don't think I'll be surprised if her story does turn out to be false. She might just end up being a Snopes tale. :)

Now it's delayed until 10:30. Here's a link to watch in case it's not on the cable channels or if you don't have access to a TV (like me) and watch to see it or hear it.

I doubt anyone's story these days. Shawn, I've done so since Susan Smith revealed she was guilty. But in this case, I fell for it, 100%. Probably b/c in a little over a year from now, I'll be sending my oldest child off to college. And she wants to a college, several hours away from here. But a campus we're very familiar with (her dad and uncle graduated from Ohio Univ.). Still, I began to worry, a year ahead of time! And all b/c this girl wanted attention? A break from studies? I'm waiting also for the whole story to emerge.

Bonnie - I crown you Storm2K's #1 Detective after this!!! How about finding out who's sabatoging (sp?) our beloved message board/website? :-)

As for that live feed link, it's finally up and running. Of course, there's no news right now. Just "The Price Is Right." :)

I'll wear the "crown" with honors, Miss Mary.
Now on to the next case!
Now, if I could just figure out who killed Jon Benet Ramsey!!!

Patsy, IMO.

Now they're saying that the woman who called police to report Audrey's whereabouts said that she talked to Audrey and that Audrey said she goes there (to the marshy area) to relax. She allegedly also said that she saw Audrey was there on both Monday and Tuesday.

The above is being discussed on the live feed on Madison's channel 3 news site. Still no press conference yet.

I think Patsy "accidentally" killed her, panicked and then she & John decided to cover the whole thing up---again, I repeat---JMO!!!

The fellow in the press conference said that she stated that she just wanted to "be alone." (I guess they're referring to her leaving her apartment, as seen on video, and going to the marsh).

She also states that her abductor (the one in the sketch) did not take her from her apartment, but from a different location within the city of Madison.

Anyone else confused and still suspicious?

Where do I vote yes? I can understand her wanting to be alone, but I think she may want some attention, too.
