Now if they could only find a doctor that could firm up their brains.

that sounds sexist!! hehe. beautiful women can be just as intelligent.

Sexist? Nah, same goes for men. Beauty and intelligence are certainly not exclusive. I just question the need for artificial enhancements, and then flaunting them.

*Stands up and Claps* 8-) Couldn't have said it better myself Ed! What is UP with ALL these SILLY *edited* Reality shows anyways? Are people really that BORED with their lifes, are they THAT unhappy? I don't get it...why the need for *Reality Shows*.....I mean, I have MORE reality in MY life that I don't NEED someone elses problems for heavens sake

Can another member here thank you also Ed and indirectly you too Dennis? I'm so glad you both said what you did - I kept reading these replies and shaking my head too......you see I used to work for 6 ENT surgeons and 2 specialized in plastic surgery. We saw the condition patients were after surgery, before stitches came out. They were black and blue, really banged up, eyes swollen, and in pain. I'd have to say that 99.9% of the employees there all said - no way would we elect to have plastic surgery!!!! And I still stand by that opinion.

If I stumble upon this show, I will quickly change channels.....to each his own but honestly, look at Michael Jackson to see how far and how sad someone will go to alter their outward appearance. I'd rather have my wrinkles and the nose God gave me...

My wonderful schnozz and chin are the result of plastic surgery. It was initially done as an SMR to help with my breathing, but the doctor, who my wife worked for at the time, said he wanted to do a little more while I was under. We weren't charged for the "Extras" and the end result for me was nice. I'm not saying I would do it again, because I wouldn't unless it was needed due to some accident or injury.

My problem with these reality shows is how many of them play on peoples fears and poor self esteem. I find that demeaning to the people and I choose not to watch the shows I feel that way about. I so not plan to watch The Swan because it does exactly what I said above. And just as indicated in one of the teasers I've seen about it, radical make overs can actually be "too much" for some to handle. Cutting edge? maybe Ethical? I wonder.

And like Dennis said"you want drama?"-come live my life!!!(I am not complaining)

I've watched a few of the makeover shows and ended up in tears. I've seen women who could not afford to have teeth fixed, noses fixed and many other imperfections repaired that would make then look good and feel better about themselves. These were bright women whose self esteem was affected. I was so very happy for them.

I feel very lucky and blessed to have been born with a fairly normal appearance. I didn't have anyone making fun of my nose, teeth or chin when I was growing up. I think that would definitely have had a negative on anyone. I become very angry when people are belittled.

I love the confidence that I see in these people upon the reveal to their friends and family. Their feeling good makes me happy and yep that's why I watch and cry!!!!!!!

we watched it last night... in a word... dumb. the chics both looked all carved out. you could tell they piled on the foundation to hide the scars. nice boobs but that's about it. even the reactions seemed fake. p

Paul, I was not impressed either. I don't like the idea of a beauty contest.

I was shocked to see the transformation of Rachel inparticular. I think she looked great afterwards!
