I like the fact that there is more daylight. Those first couple of mornings I am a little slow, though!

We really like never having to change our clocks here in Arizona. Sure seems unnecessary once you move to a place where it is not honored.

I just like tinkering with all the clocks and digitals every six months...breaks the monotony.

Oh, yes, those VCRs from heavan, too!

The clocks are changed in a seven month period, from April to October and in a five month period from October to April.
It actually comes out to a little under seven months and a little over five months, respectively.

2000           April 2         October 29 = 210 days
2001           April 1         October 28 = 210 days
2002           April 7         October 27 = 203 days
2003           April 6         October 26 = 203 days
2004          April 4       October 31 = 210 days
2005           April 3         October 30 = 210 days
2006           April 2         October 29 = 210 days
2007           April 1         October 28 = 210 days
2008           April 6         October 26 = 203 days


203 days = 29 weeks

29 weeks / 52 weeks = 6.69 months
23 weeks / 52 weeks = 5.31 months

I'm in the middle on this. Take or leave it I guess. And that wasn't a choice! When my daughters were under the age of 3, it was a real hassle. Moving up or back an hour affected their bedtimes/waketimes/nap. I remember a phase when one of them would awaken at 5 a.m. everyday. Took me two weeks to ease her back to the decent hour of 7.

Since they're older it's not a big deal. We all drag for a week in the Spring, since we've lost an hour. Other than that, it's not that bad.

But ask someone with a baby or toddler about Daylight Savings Time and you'll probably get a strong opinion on the subject!

Me too, it was so neat seeing the sun setting at 8 pm last night!!! The only thing I didn't like is the fact that it goes into effect at 2am, making 2am actually 3am, and that is when i have to be at work so I lost that sleep! Oh well, it's worth it, hey now the time in my car is right again! (I never changed it, lazy bum! LOL)

Love-Hate relationship ...

Case in point, I do love the extra hour of daylight, BUT I lost an hour of sleep Saturday night [well, actually, I had to work at 6 AM and technically didn't get done from Saturday night's performance until 3 AM (instead of 2)] ... soooooo I stayed up all night and slept all day after I got off work at 10 am and got home at 11 am...

I like it...I agree with Bill, it breaks the monotony!

I don't like it. Sure would save on my electric bill during the months of June, July and August if the sun would go down at 5 PM.

I gotta love it! I get time to play in the garden,
after work, and, I can still SEE what's coming
up!

an Amateur Astronomer, I have always despised DST but now enjoy the pleasure of never having to deal with it here in AZ and I know the people in Phoenix enjoy not having that extra hour of daylight in the evening during the Summer when it's 115F.

As the saying goes...You can't fight City Hall...er Congress...so for me...I don't mind the the extra hour of daylight...actually prefer it over standard time.
